That would play like 4-4-2

More like 4-1-2-3 Alvarez coming in from the right. Foden on the left but more involved with midfield link play. Haaland the monster up top with De Bruyne and Bernado creating mayhem behind him. Rodri the DM and in my opinion possibly the best DM in Europe now. Cancelo and Walker attacking down the flanks whenever possible.
More than enough of a team to deal with The Hammers.

Tough game this. West ham played really well against us last season. We looked rusty in the community shield. I think we will struggle. West ham will look to counter us on the break with bowens pace and their new striker if he plays. Honestly think we draw this 1-1.

I think we could struggle the first few games as we try to assimilate new players into the team and how best to utilise them to the best of their ability.

It will take a few games to adjust based on what we saw in the CS. Mind you I can imagine Pep will be earning his money this week. Training looked full on.

I'm seriously looking forward to this season, no proper footie on telly and at the ground has been mind-numbing.

Plenty of proper football on the telly — watched nearly every game of the Women‘s Euros.

It’s the fact that only three of the matches all summer were City that was mind-numbing.

It’s fun to watch but not proper footy. The technical level is terrible and I’ve still never seen a half decent save.

I believe that Philips has been bought to replace Bernies energy and as cover for Rodri. He can play both positions. I would play Philips instead of Gundogan but agree with the rest of the team.
