West Ham interested in Iheanacho

You know quite well it is not your differing opinion I was complaining about, it was misrepresentation.

He has already 'made it' if he plays regularly for West Ham.

My question is whether he will be as good as Jesus & Sané if given regular football.

I think it's possible he might be but it will require him to maintain his current scoring record.

Notice the word 'maintain' . He doesn't actually have to become a 'Pep player' in order to be an elite one, he just has to carry on scoring at the rate he does now.

If he does that at West Ham next season ( note NEXT SEASON ) not for the next 5 years, just one season, & we don't have a buyback, they have a 50 60 miilion player for 20 & we are a bunch of stupid ****s.

define "made it".

If he simply scores goals but plays in a way not suited to our style, he will never play for us or, is your gripe on losing money? i.e. we could sell him on "if" he becomes a prolific scorer (in a system not suited to us)?

For someone with WC potential, that is hardly inspiring wouldn't you agree?

You have to take into consideration the teams that can afford to take a risk on a 20 year old striker for upward of £20mil...Not the money in the other leagues like there is here.

Everton, Hoffenheim & Southampton are all fantastic at developing young talent

Also Hoffenheim just finished 4th, 2 points behind Dortmund. Not a terrible place to go tbh

He is a prolific scorer for us, at 20 years old, with very little football. He doesn't have to 'become' one, he has to remain one.

If he carrys on scoring at the same rate he does for City and his national team, he is a 50 60 mil player. That's without improving one percent. Just staying the same. If he does that & improves, keep adding ten mil with each improvement.

The only way Iheanacho is worth 20 mil, is if he can't maintain his present standard.

I believe the only reason he will be sold, is because City can't fit him in & he needs game time, hence there will be a buyout clause.

If that isn't the case & we have just written him off without selling to the highest bidder, we have a wanker running the show.

I think too many on here have a soft spot for him and are holding out for him to break through and prove everyone that he is WC (which many on here believe he has the potential to become). If teams/scouts etc believed that, then £20m would be well worth the punt from bigger teams that those listed IMO

You kind of nailed it with the word "Risk" though.

I believe he would be sold because he doesn't have the skillset Pep demands or is likely to acquire them.

You can come back all you like and say he hasn't had opportunity, but Pep and the training staff see him every day and can make that call without having to put him on the matchday field.

Surely if we are willing to sell him outright, there would be more offers on the table because, as you (or someone else said) a buy back clause tends to turns teams off.

There have been lots of links with bigger clubs, including PSG, Dortmund, but if City have a buyout clause, none of those will be interested. Also there are sources who claim he doesn't want to leave this country, as he is trying to get a passport.

If he gets a passport & is scoring goals, add another 20 30 mil on top of the 50 60 mil.

Tbf Pep and his team thought Bravo & Nolito had the skill sets to excel in this league...They don't get everything right

I've answered that in the other post.

His 'skillset' has involved scoring goals. If Pep doesn't like a kid who scores almost a goal a game he is a fucking knobhead & so are his coaches.

Iheanacho's problem at City is the competition, not his lack of value. He can't get on the pitch enough to learn his trade. Pep would have to play him or move him on otherwise it's not fair.

If it's a straight transfer it should be closer to double. It would be, if Utd were the selling club.

Imo the fed is purely bacause there will be a buyback clause because we are not that fucking stupid (I hope) & we have just done the same with Unal who has never played in the Prem.

That is before they've seen them train and compete within this City team. Bravo looked to be a good buy and Nolito seemed to be a solid signing within his intial first few months at the club.

Pep has seen kelechi play and train for a whole season now, so its easier to make the decision that he won't fit with city's new style of play. Good player, just not the right fit.

He might do eventually. Pep perhaps just hasn't got the time right now, to teach him, so he's (hopefully) letting him get game time elsewhere.

Kelechi has barely played for 3 years now. He needs football.

He is also not the one dimensional player he appears at City. He was often a No 10 previously with a good eye for a pass & ability to score from distance. We haven't seen that yet at City because of his limited game time imo. He is too eager to play & fucks it up.
