That league debut was very very impressive from Haaland. There was immense pressure on him with that penalty. The hostile crowd were booing him big time, and having not seen much of the ball - on the back of missing 3 chances last week against Liverpool, and tons of media hype - he coolly placed that ball perfectly into the side netting.
The way he took his second was sublime.
As he looks like being the new penalty taker, I expect a new premier league goal scoring record from him within the next few years.
We strolled to a comfortable victory in a match we feared could have gone the wrong way, and to be 2 points above the mickeys after 1 game is a great start to the season. I expect us to fill our boots in the next few games.
Credit to all the players for never stopping after a very shaky first 3 minutes.
Credit to Pep for another selection, which worked perfectly - I can never second guess him.
Lastly, I will just say that, if Sterling or Jesus had either taken the penalty or had that Haaland chance for the second goal, I doubt that they would have scored both of them - that's the difference we've acquired with Haaland, with all respect for Sterling and Jesus, who both scored plenty for us over the years.
Haaland will get better as he gets fitter and more used to us, but, he looks very, very hungry for goals and success.
He seems a merciless giant.
