What bread is everyone eating

Yea, but that is now, but everyone of a certain age has almost certainly eaten it smashed with best butter, and it doesn’t taste too shite then, but as per this day and age there’s always a better substitute, if you have the time to get involved, not much bread has ever been “good” for you I suppose but we’ve all been brought up on it that’s for sure
My local corner shop was up a steep, cobbled street. We always had Hovis.

When I had to go and buy a loaf, I had to leave my bike outside.

If anyone lives in Cheadle Hulme get to the Rolling Pin, his bread is about the best you can get unless you have a local bakery that doesn’t have the word ‘artisan’ anywhere near their name, that usually means they stick another pound on a loaf, if not more.

Love sour dough bread as a treat also those poncey breads with olives, jalapenios, sun dried tomatoe pretentious stuff...used to eat too much Warbies toastie at £1.60 a loaf so decided to change. Co op wholemeal, soft and doughy, makes great toast, prob better for you than the Warbies and at 76p a loaf, cant be sniffed at.

Sourdough is the work of the devil but cunts use it for fucking everything these days. Can't go for anything to eat without sourdough being involved somewhere

I've started making my own since my Mrs asked me to. The only thing I slightly disagree with is the not time consuming. The actual work is not particularly time consuming but I seem to spend quite a bit of time waiting for the dough to prove.

I guess it's now part of my weekly routine so don't really notice the time taken.
Definitely worth the effort though, with the only decision being whether to cook it plain or with an extra ingredient. My current favourite is with caraway seeds.
