The 15 mins before Dzeko's equaliser vs QPR was definitely the worst. Even now it makes me shudder to think what could've happened. I could handle it when we were shit as it's a completely different level of expectation, even the relegation to League One I got over fairly quickly thinking we'll piss that and get back up no problem (haha).
But that day, as attack after attack broke down and the reality began to hit that we might not win the title was a feeling of utter dread. The thought that we could lose it after being clearly the best side in the league all season and beating THEM home and away only to fuck it up at the death of our own volition. A self-inflicted yet still horrific injustice coming off the back of numerous late winners for them in recent derbies, fuck me that would've left a deep scar. People will still be singing about Gerrard's slip in 10 years well imagine if that had been our future, it would've done serious damage to the club and left an unpleasant stain for ever more. ALL of that was running through my mind, the prospect of the incessant piss-taking from rival fans and media alike.
City fans were taken to the very edge that day and obviously that only makes what ensued so much more special but by god it was a grim and horrifying prospect until Aguero delivered the coup-de-grace which was ultimately the most hurtful way to beat them to that title!
