What trouble did you have last night?

Without doubt Dave. I just think that the whole feel of this game is starting to get disaster written all over it. People seem for some stupid reason to think that for one night only, the police are going to turn a blind eye and let armagedon take place, that all the CCTV won't work, they will be too busy to nick anyone, the papers will be too busy writing about an impending election and our owners will be actually really proud of 200 people fightinng on Sir Matt Busby Way being broadcast accross the world. How can that be seen as good for the club and our image?

I've found it quite amusing reading all the stuff about the "battles" going on at Tuesday's game.

Wasn't it just over a week ago that someone posted about our game at Leeds in 1977, and how bad that was?

I don't want to pull the "old man knows better" routine, but Tuesday really was nothing.

For old-skoolers like a few of us on here, that was how it was every week in the 70's and 80's.

You get used to it. You get savvy. I think too many on here exctolling the horror of it all must be young and have little comprehension of what real football violence is like.

I'll be at Old Trafford next Wednesday, just like I have been going back to Denis Law's backheel... now that was a frightening day!

this lad knows da score
I'm not going. I cant get a ticket, but if I could there is no way I would take my lad who is 17. He has never experienced true football violence and I hope he never does. Anyone that lived through the dark ages knew what it was like and though not overly proud of the fact City were not to be messed with. If these toerags want to play hard ball I think they are picking on the wrong 'team'.

Don't worry my friend.

I promise you it won't be any different to any bitter local Derby played at night when everyone's been boozing and stuff all day when the balance of power in the city is on the verge of shifting and the previous week one of the clubs' 'lads' were slapping man, woman and child. Did I mention it was the 2nd leg of a semi-final which is finely balanced?

I'm taking me flask. It'll be dull as fuck.

Going on my own on Wednesday (includes train & tram there). Thankfully getting a lift back however I don't know the swampland so knowing my luck the lift will be parked in the only area it pissing kicks off, hoping I avoid it all however as I'm sixteen and not that tall I'm not setting my heart upon not running into violence. Then again I'm not wearing colours but witnessing the scum on Tuesday I don't think that'll really help much.

Don't worry mate. It really isn't as bad as people are making out.

You honestly think it'll be that bad?

Crew of City?

Haha, seems I have missed a lot...

Eh?
A reference to the fact that I haven't read much of the thread my friend...

And now people are talking about a "crew of City"...

Caught me a little off guard to say the least!

You're right. And the large allocation for visiting fans should ensure there are enough sensible fans there to calm any exhuberance.

I might not even bother going, just watch the highlights or summat.

Been to every derby at OTsince early 80's. Apart from munich aniversery its always a walk in park. Problem with aniversery was being locked in for 1/2 hour and the issuing of scarfs...everyone without a red and white scarf was a blue!!! i got fronted by moston rats near sam platts...6 of us, 30 of them...guess what...told em to fuck off and they said 'sorry mate'.
IMO this is all getting taken out of proportion. if you want trouble..wear colours and gob off (any rag turning up at eastlands doing this always gets a slap...therefore any blue at ot will get this.....sad but true!). Go, enjoy...stop the scaremongering.....the same fear factor was out in force before the brum game last year and if you would of believed the hype on here .....then we were all going to get battered and bruised!!! The fact of the matter was...lots of city old boys had a drink or two with the zulus, told a few old stories, shook hands and had a good day out.
Yes at ot there will be a few flash points....but lets get this into perspective.....vast majority of us will have a peaceful day and hopefully it will be a fantastic day to remember. Those acting the cock will easily find a arena to display!!

Were going back in time , i would of loved to have taken my two lads on weds to enjoy what will be a cracker but because of morons from both clubs i decided against it ,what a shame as they have prob been to more games than most of the lowlife looking for a fight .As for me there dad lets hope i dont become a victim of two sets of lowlifes with no values and balanced view of life ..bless em.come on city.

Sorry mate but I don't think it's fair that you are tarnishing city fans, your own fans, with the same brush as them red scum. The second leg hasn't happened yet and you're presuming city fans will go to O.T taking darts, golf balls, knives, and attack the elderly, women and children. Well you know what I reckon we won't. Just like the world media, and half the people on here, reckoned we would ruin the 50th anniversary of munich air disaster. Guess what we didn't. there's also a big difference between going with intent to cause trouble (and I'm not being naive and thinking that we don’t have a small minority of idiots that will do this) and defending yourself. However I wouldn't take my children to this match either though mate, maybe I'm being bias, but it seems like its the red twats out to cause the trouble. Not the city fans.

And anyway revenge is different to provocation!
