What's the most trouble you've witnessed following City?

chelsea steaming out of the main stand in the eighties,, it was a friday night game, they took over the ground, live on tele too i think? that was scary

lets just say there were fireworks!!

Yes I hear City opened up with an artillery barrage to soften them up before the infantry went over the top to mop up the remains of the infamous Red Army. Classic WWI strategy.

Leeds away in the FA cup in the 70's, we were 2 up and they invaded the pitch, ended 2-1. The road past the dog track to the coaches was littered with shoes that fans had lost in the mayhem. When we got under the bridge City were waiting and as Leeds came through they got their comeuppence.

Absolutely my worst day in football in over 40 years of watching City .....

absolutely terrifying on that two mile run back to the station following that game ... and it WAS a run!

No coppers anywhere , and i've never seen so many yobs hell bent on trouble in my life ... had a scarf nicked , and a bottle missed my head by a matter of inches outside the train station .

Loads of people on the city special were injured .... the few coppers that were about just deserted us and allowed the Leeds hoolies to run riot.

Other bad days came at Newcastle in the cup , in the 80's ..... and a pitched battle near the coaches after a 2-2 draw at Spurs one year in the 70's.

Glad it wasnt just me!
We had moved to Sheffield from Denton and it was my first visit to Elland Road,I was only 11 and my dad was a hero that day,hes from Gorton so explains why he didnt seem to give a shit when someone tried to nick my scarf.
I on the otherhand had to change my underpants when I got home.
Coppers just escorted us to the Leeds mob and then left us,I actually think they enjoyed doing it.

What game is this exactly? I knew City's record at Elland Road in the early to mid 70's was piss poor and the excellent Man City stats backs this up.

1970-71 Lost 0-1
1971-72 Lost 0-3
1972-73 Lost 0-3
1973-74 Lost 1-0

Not even a single City goal? Yet Mamba mentions trouble after we draw level. Sorry to be picky I'm just a little confused?

Edit - upon further investigation a 2-2 draw was played at Elland Road with Willie scoring on the 1st March 1975.

I assume this is the game?

Yep , that was the game ......

'Tbilisis' just got his seasons mixed up , i thought it was more mid-seventies , than early seventies ........ Donachie didn't score many goals for us , but he equalised in the dying minutes of that game to make it 2-2 , and it caused trouble galore for us outside ....... it was an absolute nightmare getting back to that station !

To say there was 'trouble' would be an understatement .... it seemed like the whole of yorkshire was against us , they pelted us with bricks/bottles/lumps of rock/ and coal down the road from the ground ... and then hundreds of em' just waded in amongst us ... we were seriously outnumbered , and they knew it.

It was the longest two miles of my life , and what few coppers had been around us as we left the ground simply vanished and left us to it .....

but West Yorkshire police have long admitted that they just didn't have a clue how to cope with so many Leeds yobs back in those days ...... it wasn't until the late 80's , maybe even 90's , when they finally made some headway into curbling the problem.

If the OP isn't a rag, I'm the pope. Check his posts.
he's quoted what the spurs fans said and you now believe he's a rag??
what is the fixation of certian posters on here trying to suss out if anyone on here is a rag pretending to be city......get a life
anyway, how do we know that you aren't a rag..........??

A few years ago
Leeds away facup Cherry won it and after the game all kinds hurled at us, a lad of about 10 near me got a brick full in the face
West Ham away in league cup mid 80's, think we won 1 0 tony cunningham getting the goal, after game police escorted us to the station, walked down an open tunnel from above, the police blocked us in as we got all kinds of shit thrown at us from above, bastards

Have a look in the picture thread in the cellar for a picture of what salford paul got up to on the way home

Pre season friendly against Celtic at Tolka Park Dublin, early 90's - burning of City flags, bumps, bruises, and we got some horrendous stick, never felt as intimidated (imagine there we were heavily outnumbered all around stadium). Left early to avoid a kick in that was definitely coming our way. (can remember some Celtic fans from Glasgow who had travelled apologising for the way we had been treated, it was the large Irish contingent from both sides of the border who took umbrance at us being there..............

Boro at home in the 90s (cup game I think), so much mither on Claremont Road. I seem to remember about 30 Boro lads trying to pile into a shop/bookies to save themselves from a proper kicking.

Villa away was my worst after the 5-1 away win (White 4). We came out of the ground and turned left while the rest of the City fans went the other way and got caught in a proper Villa ambush. Not big or clever but that was a great night and I was buzzin the whole time as 10 of us scrapped our way back to our mini-bus for about 20 minutes!

You were lucky I went on the service train.....fucking nightmare.

The worst for me was the Quarter Final in 81 at Goodison....Everton were on the platform when got off at Lime Street with a welcoming commitee, just total mayhem all day....I was just relieved to get home in one piece.
