Yep that was a lively day, especially after the game. Remember about 300 hundred Blues getting off at Lime St. the scouse welcome committee got the biggest shock of there lives. Absolutley mullered. They ran for there lives.Sky Blue said:droylsdenblue said:Leeds away in the FA cup in the 70's, we were 2 up and they invaded the pitch, ended 2-1. The road past the dog track to the coaches was littered with shoes that fans had lost in the mayhem. When we got under the bridge City were waiting and as Leeds came through they got their comeuppence.
You were lucky I went on the service train.....fucking nightmare.
The worst for me was the Quarter Final in 81 at Goodison....Everton were on the platform when got off at Lime Street with a welcoming commitee, just total mayhem all day....I was just relieved to get home in one piece.
Was that the FA Cup game?blue underpants said:Newcaste away about 1974 city had about a thousand lads in the open gallowgate end with no segregation at all, just as the match kicked off all their nutters piled in and i remember they were all dressed the same donkey jackets and steel toe capped wellies and boots.
They completely surrounded us about two thousand of them and it kicked off good style they thought city were going to run and crap it they were wrong a well known city lad from them days called Shamus Bell RIP stood on a crash barrier and launched himself right into the middle of them absolute mayhem followed all the first half with the coppers doing nothing to stop it, half time city were kept on the terraces geordies allowed at the back to refuel on beer.
Second half was just as bad but city again held their own right to full time when we all came out city split in two coaches and train i was on the train lucky enoughas most of citys hard cases were on the train, it was one mass running brawl all the way to the station again city never took a backward step and even piled into the huge pub opposite the station and took on the geordies in there they were amazed as nobody ever went up there and did what city did that day.
When we finally got on the train most lads had blood on them or torn clothing iv never seen anything like that day before or since
Im not dead sure prestwich it was that long ago but now you mention it im pretty sure it was as city didnt really take biggish mobs away in them days but did in cup gamesPrestwich_Blue said:Was that the FA Cup game?blue underpants said:Newcaste away about 1974 city had about a thousand lads in the open gallowgate end with no segregation at all, just as the match kicked off all their nutters piled in and i remember they were all dressed the same donkey jackets and steel toe capped wellies and boots.

remember well i was 16 at the time and 3 windows on our coach smashed.bobbyowenquiff said:No question. In watching City for 46 years the worst violence was the second leg of the League Cup semi at Anfield in 1981. Fought our way back to the coach to find it on its side with all the windows smashed in. Three people on our coach stabbed. Anyone who was there that night will never forget it. God knows what would have happened had we won!

Not sure if it was the same game but i walked straight into about 40 of them in a side street , near to the Sherwood pub , before the game ....... cops on foot and in vans trying desperately to bring them under control ........ apparently they'd just wrecked the Clarence pub on Wilmslow Road!

I remember 5 minutes before behind us two teenage girls with their dad all looked very happy when it all kicked off. I turned round and saw one of the girls heads absolutely covered in blood and she was screaming her head off. Coins raining down everywhere.
I ended up coming home about £8 up I was picking all the change up from the pitch as we walked round!
Grim day though and I think we lost 2-0 as well.
That was real bad day at Blackpool ..... i , along with my son , and many others , landed up on the pitch trying to escape all the trouble in the side stand , missiles being thrown everywhere ... then the cops shoved us on the terracing behind the goal out of the way.
This game was completely different for me.kinkysleftfoot said:EalingBlue2 said:Millwall away in 99 I think was living in London at the time - horrible area, horrible fans, broken glass everywhere, fire, injured police and marched flanked by dogs to London bridge station. Huge amount of violence and in truth it didn't really involve the city fans as we were locked in for a very very long time. Over 30 Met officers ended in hospital!
Bizarre thing was when we equalised for 1-1 I barely celebrated as I thought we were 2-0 down as I thought a disallowed goal for them had stood and I couldn't understand the celebrations
I remember that game..... Locked in for over an hour then when we came out of the ground it was like a battle had taken place, bricks and stoned all over the streets

Stoke is a horrible place - their 'crew' are all grandfathers in their 50's who haven't heard that football violence is passe nowadays.
Cardiff could be hairy too.
They hate everyone, even other Welsh people.

Got of the coach and was instantly asked the time by a cheeky cockney chappie, I looked at my watch and was promptly sparked right out by said cockney.Millwallawayveteran1988 said:Kris_Musampa said:Outside the Kippax after Luton in 83.
The game - City v Luton; They won (bastards!)
The car park - Us v Plod; We won. haha
Also after the Full Members cup against Chelsea. That was pretty mad.
Forgot about that one. Full members cup final was mayhem.
