What's the worst that can happen?

I am personally most disturbed about the out of football news concerning one of our squad. Some very serious issues pertain to this regarding how the matter has been handled by the club. Clearly we don't know all the facts yet but the optics look bad from were we currently stand.
The embarrassing events in the transfer market also deserve serious reflection but obviously you think otherwise and so be it.
If you had the opportunity to read other posts I have made over recent hours you will see that I believe we need to draw a line under the weeks events, support the team and move on. It would however be unwise to move on without an analysis of how we might have done things better.
So all of the facts not known but it looks bad

Genius here, of course it looks bad, it is a multiple rape charge

However it came out it would look bad.

Let due process be done

Not defending it and agree its distasteful, but legally without being charged I'm not sure the club could do much.
In the strictest legal sense you are right, but just drop him quietly. If it is correct that he was also doing social media stuff for the club with kids, whilst on bail for alleged sex offences, and assuming the club knew, then words fail me. To describe that as inappropriate is not even close and those responsible should be gone - today.

There's no way he should be in the Matchday! squad imagine his (Mendys) state of mind. No bloke can operate at full potential with that many allegations hanging over them.
I’m sure they didn’t just blithely chuck him into the fray. They’d have spoken at length to him and assessed his mood before deciding to play him and let’s be honest here, none of the fans noticed a slump in his level of performance while this was ongoing - just the same old Mendy - so for me the club made the right decision

I'm pretty sure a lot of people have forgotten how good we are including a lot of our own fans, we weren't too far from a quadruple last year.
Correct, only three games away from winning it all. We haven't turned to shit overnight, I fully expect another two trophies this year, but not sure what flavour they'll be.

I got far too emotionally involved in the transfers, I’m over it now after being a bit of a idiot and even talking about computer games.

The worst that can happen is we win nothing, we’ve all been there before so it’s no big deal. I’m 100% certain the squad are buzzing, they believe in themselves and they fully expect to deliver this year.

If the transfer situation remains as it is, then, for me, the worst thing that could happen would not be going long in the three cup competitions. We have a big squad this season, what with the addition of the youngsters, so it’s imperative that we stay in competitions to give everyone game time. This season was always going to be difficult, sandwiched between international tournament, so I’d just like to see us get through it harmoniously.

I would not say so

Do people listen to Pep. He said yesterday that spuds would not talk, so how is that Citys fault?

What can we do on that one

Messi, he refused us before and why get into an auction

Ronaldo, they can have him. He is a knob, at City he would not fit

Lukaku wanted Chelsea

So who next? Let's see

That they still spent all summer hoping Spurs would call. They should have walked a month ago.

That they then seemed so surprised by the outcome that they had no one else planned and then panicked to get Ronaldo and were then gazumped.

I'm pretty sure a lot of people have forgotten how good we are including a lot of our own fans, we weren't too far from a quadruple last year.

During a season in which our deep squad won the league after a terrible start because other teams couldn't cope with playing every 3 days.

It remains to be seen how we will do now everything in football is back to normal.

The least worst is that we don't win the league or the CL. We can't win the league every season and as we have never won the CL, whilst disappointing, it's not the end of the world.

We don't retain the League Cup or win the FA Cup. The LC probably won't be thing for top PL clubs soon and we generally don't win the FA Cup so hardly a disaster.

We don't finish in the top four. From a personal point of view I don't give a rats arse about the CL but obviously the club do. It would be a big hit to our finances and I suspect that Pep might not see out the last year of his contract. As he isn't staying forever then it means we get to greet our next manager a bit sooner.

I suppose the point of this thread is that life goes on and so does our club. There will be ups and downs and maybe we are entering a down period. I'm in my 60th year of watching City and even when I've been pissed off I still can't help being City daft.
Excellently put. Fanny arsed kids take note :)

Anything since 2012 has been a bonus for me
