When fast food becomes gourmet grub

There's no reason a McDonalds worker shouldn't be paid 30 grand a year with the amount of billions they make a year. Fair play to them.
We are all getting fucked over, all our wages need to go up. Don't attack the people at the bottom, the McDonalds workers, people need to get to their own bosses and demand a fair wage

That isn't how things work, if people can't afford the product the product gets cut. No profit in the business they'd move it to China if they could.

Wages for all going up means prices for all goes up, fist pumping your way to unemployment isn't a good look.

English food history is littered with examples of cheap popular food that chefs and the middle class then discovered and sent the price through the roof.
Lamb shanks, oysters, oxtail, lamb’s liver, chicken livers and several more used to be cheap and popular.
Back in the sixties curry was dirt cheap but now some places charge the earth.
My then local curry house charged 3/6d (17.5p) for keema and chapattis with as much extra curry gravy and chapats as you wished.

It's very hard to find a decent chippie who can properly cook fish and doesn't use that cheaper vile oil to do the chips in.

Especially if you eat them immediately outside with tons of salt & vinegar on them - unbeatable!

Blowing on them because they are so hot. I read recently that the vinegar chippies use now is not even real vinegar.

And let me put my own salt on :)
