Where was you on the day of the takeover?

Had been in Sheffield on a course, so was totally unaware of what had happened.

On the way home I had Talk Sport on the car radio and could not understand what they were on about and why they kept mentioning City and Abu Dhabi all the time.

By the time I reached Hyde I’d more or less got it but was somewhat gob-smacked.

A day never to be forgotten.

Woke up quite upset that Corluka was being sold to Spurs, saw him having a medical there on SSN so I went to town to buy some new school trousers and that for the new term. Saw my mate in town and was just speaking to him about City and the win at Sunderland a few days before (he's just a footy fan in general). Got home, turned SSN again and there we were, people at the ground buying STs with tea towels on there heads haha and some businessman on SSN saying how we had been bought by some fella worth multiple times more than Abramovich, happy days lol.

i was starting my first day of jury service. i remember sitting there watching sky sports news waiting to be called in for the first trial. there had been nothing all morning, and it didnt look like we were going to be called in. then it was announced on ssn. we were the richest club in the world.... then my name was called out to go into a trial.

i was gutted that i had to leave the tv. i got in the court room and the judge was explaining the case to us. i must admit for that afternoon of the trial there was only 11 of the jury listening because all i could think about was my CITY the richest in the world!!

I was in Newcastle city centre doing a delivery.Waggon is covered in City stickers etc. When a geordie lad in a Newcastle shirt came upto me told me what was going on.Thought he was winding me up!Well he took me to a tv store round the corner on Northumberland St(Deansgate equivlant).Stood there in total shock.Dont remember driving back listening to TalkRadio, got home about 21.30ish Switched SSN on.The rest is history as they say.

The day of the takeover I was at the hospital as my dad had suffered a stroke, I got a phone call from one of the lads at work telling me what was happening. As soon as my dad came to I went in to his room interrupted the consultant to tell him our great news, the look on the consultants face was a picture, he obviously wasn't a City fan. We spent the rest of the day talking about the highs and many lows of City over the years. He couldn't believe it the following day when I went back to hospital and told him we'd signed Robinho, he made me go and buy every paper in the newspaper shop for him.

Sadly he passed away in hospital four days before Robinho's debut in the Chelsea game. I still went to the game as he would have wanted me to, I even shed a tear for him when Robinho scored that free kick, felt like my dad was smiling down on us at that moment.

Anyway I know thats a little morose when all this excitement is on this post, but just seeing the title made me spare a thought for my old man god rest his soul.
