Barry White and Love Unlimited for me - been listening to lots of his stuff in the last couple of months. It's superb.
As a kid, I had the impression that he was classed as a bit of a joke so I never really bothered with his music. He always seemed to be mocked on TV shows as the "Walrus of Love". The interviewers never seemed to hold him in much regard.
I love the lush production sound he has and his voice and delivery are superb. You can't help but tap your feet either and his good stuff is phenomenal. Love Unlimited is just easy going, good mood music. Nothing amazing, but just "nice" and with everything else going on I want some "nice" in my life!
One album I've listened to probably at least once a month for about 15 years is Micheal Stearns' Planetary Unfolding. It's ambient so wouldn't be everyones cup of tea, but if you need to concentrate on something with a great, non-intrusive soundscape I think it's the best. If I ever wanted to know how the universe sounded, that's my go to album!
