Who are you currently obsessed with musically ?

Cracking band, got tickets to see them next March at the Apollo.

As for me, Kurt Vile has been putting out incredible stuff consistently for years. This was his last single (although I think he's just done a cover of a velvet underground tune for a compilation album coming out soon).

Currently listening to a few complete Beatles albums - not something I've done before although I enjoy many of their popular songs.

Been listening to lots of albums from two of my favourite artists: John Mellencamp and Beck.

Re: You comment about reading/watching anything by an artist - I went one stage further earlier this year. I researched and wrote a detailed article about one of my favourite albums of all time - "Living With The Law" by Chris Whitley. Whitley is a criminally underrated artist who sadly died in 2005, but not before releasing about 16 albums. As a singer/guitarist/poetic lyricist, he is a prime candidate for people discovering his music and wondering why the hell he isn't more well known.

In the spirit of spreading knowledge of his work as far and as wide as possible, here's my article on on the "Living With The Law" album and also one on "Dust Radio: A Film About Chris Whitley".

I've also been listening to a few complete Beatles albums recently, prompted of all things by watching the film Yesterday. I'd previously only really listened to the red and blue compilation albums but there is obviously so much more to explore.

I gave your man Chris Whitley a listen earlier on Spotify, probably unfair to make a quick judgement but didn't sound like my cup of tea. I'm always happy to give new things a go though and might come back to him.

I've been listening to a lot of Jackie Leven:

I don’t know why Jackie Leven isn’t better known – he should be revered | Folk music | The Guardian

The Sexual Loneliness Of Jesus Christ - Jackie Leven - YouTube

I was a big fan of his original group Doll by Doll and especially their "lost classic" album;
