In 17/18 and 18/19 he played more on the left than right. I used to think he was better on the right but I think he's equally effective on either wing now.
To say our system doesn't suit "inverted" wingers is bullshit as that's how we've played most of the time during the most successful period in our history. It's just another excuse to bash Sterling.
I can't think of a single occasion that Mahrez and Bernardo have played on the left, they've both been pretty successful signings.
I don't think 17/18 is right tbh Sane played a lot hence him winning the young player of the year and he has always played on the left.
Anyway that's beside the point, I still think he is a better winger on the right than the left but he is more effective at cutting in and shooting from the left.
Not sure why you mention the inverted wingers bit to me though as that was somebody else who said inverted wingers didn't suit our system, we have played inverted wingers since Mancini I'd say but Sane has always played left hand side for us and he is left footed.
Mahrez not played left wing for us, he may have switched in game for a spell but not started.
I think Sterling is a great player, so no bashing him from me?
