Who can replace Leroy Sane?

I suspect Jesus, Phil and Raz will feature wide, more than we are used to. Braaf could come into play as a back up but I think Gabby will play more on the left side, rather than only in rotation with Sergio.
How did that work out his year?

Hard to see us unearthing a talent that can walk into the team and have the same effect as Sane. He drew the penalty at Anfield with his pace, he scored the winner against Liverpool that proved decisive, and he came on against that lot and buried them last season. He is a sublime talent and beautiful athlete when in full flow. He is not the finished article, however.

If it’s sheer pace that we want, then Traore has shown this season that he’s simply uncatchable at times, but we could have picked him up earlier and never, so probably not; he’s also frustrating for some and might not be their cup of tea. If Liverpool pick him up, however, he’ll be a major concern for us.

There are many young players out there that could blossom, but Sane has played an average of 2,000 league minutes in the three seasons he started, so we need someone in who can do the same and help take the weight of Sterling and Mahrez from the off.

We absolutely need to buy someone. I think Bernardo taking up David Silva's role of weaving the attacks together, not necessarily getting all the goals and assists but bringing all the play together is going to be great for him. Sterling as the first choice starter playing both right and left, Mahrez mainly on the right and a new face (Sancho imo) mainly on the left. Supplemented by Bernardo and Phil, perhaps Braaf too.

Midfield, I'd be selling Gundogan and buying Havertz or Aouar.

Fanciful yes but imagine a attack midfield/wide depth of Sterling, Sancho, Mahrez, KDB, Bernardo, Foden and Havertz/Aouar. Supplemented by the likes of Doyle, Braaf, Palmer maybe Bernabe too. Then you've got Aguero up front and Jesus who can play wide too. Very fanciful, 99% unlikely but my god it'd be fun!

I don't think that's true at all, if and that's a big if, he's 100% fit then he's got everything to be a top class attacking left back. My only concern is his fitness, I personally don't think he'll ever recover that pace, power and stamina after the injuries. He's still a good player but the top class player who relied so heavily on his physicality to get up and down that left flank time and time again is finished in my opinion. I really hope I'm wrong because he seems a good lad in the dressing room and around the team, the injuries were just too severe.
He cost us against wolves with that atrocious defending and he has been a liability virtually since he has been here . Don’t get me wrong I wish that he had been worth every penny that we paid for him but the reality is that if we do stick with him next season we will once again be talking more about his poor play again next season.

He's been culpable for poor defending on occasion, no one can disagree with that, however I don't agree he's been a liability since he came here. Will he continue to make mistakes, absolutely, every player does, even Laporte. I don't agree it's a guaranteed scenario that we'll be talking about his poor play consistently however because he's more than capable of defending well and attacking well, if and again I'll say a big if, he can get himself 100% fit.
