this. Gerrard has directly fucked england twice in tournaments with his daft play giving away goals. Rooney was wank after 26At what international tournaments have they produced anything of note.

its the romantic choice but he scored about 40 top flight goals in england and about 6 in italy. his club career is of zero notability aside from a free kick against arsenal and his international career has a highlight reel of around 4 decent performances in major tournaments.Gasgoine would be my choice.
Course he was.come off it mate you can make the comparison but calling Ferguson "lucky", fucking hell.
Course he was.
Lucky to get 4 years winning nowt!
Lucky to win the PL and benefit from the riches that brought compared to previous years, he and they could outspend everyone and they did.
Lucky the Dippers went into a terminal decline resulting in 30 odd years where they were worse than the previous 20 years.
A lot went his way so yes I'll call him lucky!
Rag fraud was light hearted banter seems as Pep is continually referred to as a "cheque book manager" fraud or whatever. This is like calling Pep lucky cos he got 7 cracks at the CL before finally winning it. Calling Ferguson a "fraud", Jesus wept. I hated him with the passion that only a child and a teenager who supported his cross town rivals could possess in the 90s and 00s but it's beyond dispute he's one of the great managers.
2 European Cups, 13 league titles, 5 FA Cups and 4 League Cups didn't happen because of luck or fraud. If you genuinely really think that's a reasoned position you're warped.
Nah, was never world class. Never played for a top class club side in his entire careerGasgoine would be my choice.
If that's the case then England hasn't produced anybody since 1966. Which is bollocks. At what international tournaments have they produced anything of note.
I wrote that reply too, then deleted it, because although the thread title doesn't specify football, it is in the general football forum :-)Ian Botham.
Carlton Pogba was French……
But hes never first choice - so he can’t be.Surely our Phil has to be in the conversation!
ALL ROUND? So we’re looking at midfielder who has everything…..I'm too young to have seen Moore or Bell.
In my lifetime I'd certainly have Shearer up there. Fast, two footed, clinical, aggressive and scored free kicks for fun. Great in the air too. If he was around now he'd be the only one able to come close to Haaland.
Gazza was also another who had the lot and he could've been one of the best in the world.
I don't like to say it but Scholes was very good. If we're talking just about England games, Beckham usually delivered.
I think Foden has the potential to be the best though!

As much as I am in awe of Stones, I do think there's a difference between occupying a position in the pitch for a few minutes and "playing" thereI think Lampard, overall, was more effective, and thus better.
But I think—when it comes to comprehensive skills and natural ability allowing them to be the most adaptable player England has produced—Stones has the potential to stand alone when all is said and done.
He has played CB, RB, DM, CM, AM, RW (sometimes at various times in a single match), all to a high level.
I genuinely think he could do a job as a target man in a pinch.
He is a prototypal Pep player, if one exists.
