Who now then?...

List of possibilities:

Ndombele
Rabiot
Llorente
Nzonzi

Person who will actually deputise at DM:
Delph lad

Rabiot isn't a possibility. PSG hate us and besides he has reportedly specifically asked not to be played as a dm in his contract negotiations, wants to be a box to box.

Not that Milner is representative of everyone, but he demanded to be a CM at Liverpool and played a hell of a lot at LB. Depends on the team, coach etc

Yes and that tosser also said he left to win trophies ie: the man is delusional.

He obviously thought it was going to be all sunshine and blowjobs down there, realised he made a catastrophic mistake and was then happy to feed off whatever scraps he could get at LB. Rabiot is in a stronger position because he hasn't made that daft move yet.

Regardless he's supposed to be a wanker so not someone I would want in the dressing room.

"at city we don't just have successful people, we have great human beings that know family is paramount".

That's what David Silva said in a recent interview about City and his baby son Mateo. I'm proud to support a club that emphasizes those values.

Seeing how deeply we scrutinize our signings now I really think this has become one of the criteria. We don't just want to sign players who'll win us trophies we also want to sign players with character and integrity. Players that are good human beings and players who really want to commit themselves to our project. I for one do believe this helps, it must make the dressing room a much more pleasant place and make the players want to work hard for each other.
I think that spirit of comraderie amongst the group helped us a lot last season and it's important to think about how incoming players attitudes will effect the group. A little off topic I suppose but it's definitely relaxant to questions of "who now then?" and I didn't want to create a whole new topic.

I think Jorginho was chased because we know we need a DM in the near future and he particularly was the kind of player Pep desired for the position. That doesn't mean we have to immediately sign any DM at any cost, but rather wait for the right player to emerge/become available.

I'd be happy going into next season with the squad as is, provided Pep feels the same.

I still would like to see Zinchenko on the move and someone like Thiago bought in. On paper Thiago has all the qualities that Jorginho does. I know stats lies and games aren't played on paper but he has the right attributes to play at no.6 (certainly more so than Zinchenko) if he has the right attitude. He can also play a role further forward if we instead decide to use Gundogan as a backup at no.6

Having said that it looks increasingly likely that we won't have any new signings. I'm "ok" with that, not thrilled because I think it leaves us a little thin for all the competitions we'll be in and we will really be depending on Foden and Zinchenko being able to step up and adapt their games to help us on 4 fronts, which is a bit of a risk if 1 or both of them don't take it to the next level in important matches.

Less than three weeks until the window closes.

With the possible exception of the kid from Lisbon, I think it’s unlikely we will sign anyone else.

Is he even coming? all gone abit quiet I think we have our lot now to be honest weather zinchenko moves or not.

I have no idea; he just seems to be the most likely if we do sign another player.

Pure conjecture on my part but I guess we could move for someone like Lemina if one of our midfielders sustains a serious injury in the coming weeks.

I can't even see that, the season starts in what two weeks no club will want to lose any key players at this stage unless insane money is thrown at them and we won't do that.
