Who now then?...

Bit controversial this, and I know he's struggled for 2 years, but he looked the part at Euro 2016 and it's a possibility Pep could get him back to that level...

Could we take a punt on Renato Sanches?

If Sam Lee is right, there's literally no other way to describe this other than 'monumental fuck up'. Time and time again we fail to reach/maintain dominance and stuff like this contributes. It sounds like we haven't worked on any alternatives - a very poor strategy when tied in to the 'City or nothing' idealism we've had recently. We'll still probably win the league, but what makes people think we can win the CL with our current options in defensive midfield? We will be exposed again just as we were at Anfield last season.

If it's Champions League considerations, I think the only option... and I'm not saying it's a very good option at all... is to put all your eggs into the January basket and swallow some damn pride and pay the price.

If series, any interesting destinations on the boards? Madrid/Paris/Naples

No
He Just got on the Barcelona flight going home I suppose
So nothing imminent happening
Unless it’s Messi

Gundo more than capable of playing there, Delph can do a job there as well so not sure why people are getting in such a tizzy about it. No point panic buying we've seen where that has gotten us in the past and as a silver lining it should increase the chance of more minutes for Foden and Diaz.

Have to say I'm genuinely wondering if Zinchenko could be developed in that role: would surely suit him more than left back. Covering at LB, he averaged more tackles per game than an other City player last season. The lad had one of the highest pass completion figures and he can ping a pass a good distance.

Gundogan can play the Fernandinho role, now that we've missed out on Jorginho. I don't find him incisive enough higher up the pitch. Then let's go for a more forward thinking midfielder. Maybe a Kovacic, Pjanic, even a Kroos. we could even take a look at Zaha if we are intending Bernardo or Sane to spend more time centrally.

Hobestly even a short term signing like a Rakitic or a Vidal to help us bolster midfield optionsopt champs league would be something I could live with.

Id be disappointed with 1 signing. I think we need to strengthen in atleast a couple of areas for champs league or treble/quadruple competitions.

Aren't Douglas Luiz and Aleix Garcia both back? Surely atleast Luiz is good enough.

What about Sergi Roberto at Barca? People have told me he is ceey adaptable which pep likes and is quality on the ball. Admittedly, the few times I've see .him play I haven't been particularly impressed but is he someone capable of playing that no. 6 role and also filling in at RB if needed.

I'd just try to get N'zonzi. Even if he's 29 he can rotate with Dinho. He's tidy on the ball. His height is a plus. I say get him and when Dinho leaves look for that young replacement.

I remember shitting it last year when our only left back got injured early in the season, and our manager got someone who had never played there into looking like he had played there all his life. I saw every player in the squad improve. I am not worried and I am sure we will be ok

Why "surely"?
Is there some sort of negative connotation to that? English isn't my first language. Didn't mean it like that, if that's the case. I didn't watch many Girona games last season, but I saw on here that he wasn't doing too poorly and was better than Garcia overall. Actually checking his stats now I do see he's played less than Aleix, and I didn't even think of the work permit issue.

He barely played last season.
