Mateo Kovacic.... I have a feeling city will be all over this by the end of this week. 50-60m Rolls Royce of a player. Quick and dynamic and a nasty side in the tackle. In my humble opinion he is better than anything we've got and will improve the midfield dramatically...

I don't know where you get this "Rolls Royce of a player" he's been ordinary for me.

Ronaldo was complaining there was a significant drop in quality in the RM team when Kovacic was in the side.

No , he knows Fernandinho needs replacing over the next year or so, Jorginho fitted and was available so we went for him. If no one else that fits the right profile is available at the moment we wait.
We are better off than last season, Gundogan is fitter, Mendy either frees Delph to deputise if needed or allows us to go 3 at the back and not need a 'defensive' minded midfielder, there isn't any urgency to bring in a player that isn't perfect to replace Fernadinho because then we'd be stuck with him and looking for another replacement next summer.
