Who scored the first City goal you saw 'live'?

Will have been either Georgio Kinkladze or Kevin Horlock.

Wrong, first goal you saw live was Wiekins or Rosler in a 2-2 draw against Pompey at the opening match of 97/98 and you probably missed it due to being a complete pain in the arse and spending most of the game moaning for some sweets.

For me apparently (I was just a bit too young to appreciate it and I didn't look it up till years later) it was Ian Bowyer in a 1-1 draw with Burnley at Turf Moor in September 1969. I also found out that Stan Bowles also played that day!

First home goal was a Franny Lee penalty in a 1-0 win against Everton in October 1971 (the 9th I think). I vaguely remember not getting too excited about a penalty! Felt a little cheated. Was a school trip and I had been looking forward to it for weeks.

Ha Ha - Franny Lee penalties could prove popular, as so was mine! 1971 also V Wolves............cant remember much about it except it was a night game. Walking into Maine Road for the 1st time and seing my heroes in real life with that amazing atmosphere was really special.

Willie Donachie "own goal" versus Stoke reserves at Maine Road it was a header back to the keeper from the edge of the box platt lane end but typical of what I would encounter for the next 40 years he came running out to collect it and Donachie nailed it straight in the back of the net. My dad didn't know anything about football and took me to a reserve game, two weeks later he took me to United v Burnley why I don't know as I hated United then because nearly everyone at school supported them,,Steve Kindon ran riot United lost 2-1 I thought these are shite and I don't want to come here again .So even though my dad was clueless with football he helped me make my mind up once and for all,and set me on that path every City fan my age went on to love shite but good at being shite.
