Who was the most clueless City manager ever? Apart from Ball

Re: Who was the most clueless City manager ever? Apart from

When Ball was appointed everyone apart from Lee knew it was a mistake but he was on a loser from the start at City with Franny wanting to control everything within the club, including team affairs. Benson, Frizell, Clarke, and Pearce after him all were cabbages in the manager department.

Ball and Lee were 'thick as thieves' trust me I know this. Proper jobs for the boys that appointment was. After every home game they would be in the Main Stand on the ale and cigars (often till quite late) mostly talking about Mexico 70.

Weird how people on here use the ''money'' stick to beat the shit out of Hughes. And it's a fair call; he did spend an awful lot of money, some good buys, some downright atrocious buys. Begs the question though;
If it's okay to use the money to slag him off, will the posters on here (of which there are many) resist from commenting when other clubs' fans, the media, rival managers etc etc have their regular digs at us about what we've spent? After all; if it's okay for City fans to use the money argument, then surely it's okay for our rivals to use it, no?

Ha ha, are you saying Bally was a "Yes" man? the best thing Franny ever did was sign Kinky and order Ball to play him.

I wouldn't even go as far to suggest he was a 'Yes Man' to be honest. I think the input was welcomed both ways. Two Bolton muckers together at the bar was the impression I had watching them both. The thing that disturbed me most was Franny had a chauffeur outside in the Bentley. Bally didn't.

Well there's only one manager ever taken us down to Division 3 so I'd probab;y say Royle.
Not sure if serious mate.
If you are I'm assuming you've just had a quick look on wiki.

I'm sure royle took over towards the very end of the season (by then it was to late) anyway he got us back to the prem with back to back promotions.

He's not the best but not in a million years is he the worst haha

Has to be. He even admitted he'd lost the plot after the Stockport game when he substituted our best man on the pitch (only Eddie McGoldrik mind - how things have changed).

I'm not sure Wiki would have the definitive answer to who's the worse manager.

He took over well before the end of the season and we weren't in the relegation zone at the time. He managed to scrape a play off place in division 3 . Got us relegated in his only season in the Prem. And then if he'd had his way and he'd successfully sued the club, he might well have been our last manager.

Credit where it's due. The promotion from the second division was a wonderful season and totally unexpected.

But the fact remains he is the only manager to take us into division 3.

Some of you poor fuckers never saw Ron Saunders then ?? The worst of the worst.
One for you mate, George Poyser, couldn't get us out of Div 2
My early Blue years. I can remember how my dad and his friends were always saying how bad the football was and how they should stop going to matches. "Poison" was a common phrase. And then Gentleman Joe arrived and the rest is history. Crowds went to an all time low with very little to look forward to under Poyser.
