2 full backs (Shaw and Coleman preferably cos we need speed and quality in attack)
1 central defender (no idea who but needs to be intelligent as much as athletic)
1 central midfielder (Delph preferably just to cover for Fernandinho)
1 winger (like Robben/Ronaldo/Giggs in his prime, etc - 'cos neither Navas nor Milner can really be as quick and direct as is needed at the very top)

Maybe a kid could be promoted?
You don't get much quicker than navas, but I agree he isn't direct enough

But he's not very fast with the ball. Without the ball he may beat most in the 100m but with the ball he doesn't seem to beat anyone.
That's true, he often runs backwards and sideways aswell

If we want to win the Prem and Champs league we need a top notch player. So buy Suarez....

Suarez 80m

Then to strengthen:

Shaw 25m
Mangala 30m
Fernando 10m
Sagna Free

Get rid:

Dzeko
Kolarov
Lescott
Richards

All the above wouldnt hapen... But if it did it would be nice.

Why get rid of kolorov? Been better than clichy imo

Because you can't rely on Kolarov defensively in games where we just need someone to stay back. Kolarov's pretty much a wildcard left-back that we're only able to have because of our wealth. If one were to leave it's him every time.

Agreed mate.

I think Kolarov has been a lot better defensively this year. Clichy counts as homegrown which makes that argument harder too. If we let Clichy and/or Richards go then we need to think about that homegrown rule. In attacking positions Barkley is one of the few homegrown players that might add something to our squad. Shaw isn't as good as other left backs outside of the country either... It's a tough transfer window this one because of another exodus of players like Lescott, Barry and potentially Richards. We then need to take a gamble on who to bring in, our track record with homegrown players isn't particularly promising but then if you are good enough you will get a chance at City under Pellegrini. I think we may go for a mix of academy and expensive signings to bolster the squad. Make sure we have a very strong core squad and then use academy grads to fill the rest of it. You can only take a gamble on homegrown players, none have shown consistency over several seasons and whilst people point at the rags and Rooney and Ferdinand, they've also got Young, Jones and Smalling who have been flops to date.

Difficult decisions to be made - Richards if fit is worth keeping, but will he stay fit? Can we take that risk? For Zabbas sake I don't think we can. Rodwell too - able to play a combative style box to box game - more in the attacking role and could actually excel alongside Fernandinho or Garcia in our recent system - if fit and given a chance. Ideally will have a full pre season to get some form together. Probably a case of do or die for him next season, I think we need to give him one more year considering his age and the glimpses of talent we have seen.

Fernando Reges will be one of our best signings in years if the double deal with Mangala is done soon, and quickly make people wonder what the fuss about De Jong ever was. Porto are lost without him as shown against Sevilla and he is a great defensive midfielder with the right level of mobility for our league. His positional and tactical sense should help close those big gaps between our defence and midfield that have been exploited by good teams.

Is he going to replace one of Yaya/Fernandinho or one of our attacking midfielders ?

I guess Garcia or Rodwell are most susceptible to being moved on,however,i see him more as a vital addition, and option, than a replacement.

He will replace either Rodwell or Garcia.. Fernando is pure defensive midfielder, so no chance he will replace Yaya or Fernandinho or any other attacking player.

Yep, we need a few more able bodies in central midfield, gives us more strength in depth and more tactical flexibility.
