who'd fancy istanbul if its galatasaray or besitkas ...

What a poor time for me to go to Uni... I'll be doing my exams around this time...

I will PAY the Uni whatever they want so that I can do more exams earlier or later.

I am going to Istanbul. I even tell people that I am when they say, 'you going away this summer?'
- 'Yeah Istanbul in May.'

My exam is on the 21st of may, I too would pay anything to get it changed! Heart sank when I found out my exam date.

some person (Definetly a Rag) here @ Lancaster Uni Examination timetabling people has stuck one of my exams on the morning of the Uefa Cup Final. To say I'm not happy is an understatement. The exam is over by 11.30 but there is no way that I could make it to Istanbul in time. I've put in a rather large complaint in the hope they may move it/let me do it early (I am here on exchange for only 1 semester so fingers crossed on the 2nd option). Not happy to say the least!!!! But if its not to be then Ill have to put up with it. If I can't move the exam then I definetly will be looking to do both legs of the quarters and semi finals if at all possible!

Depends on who we play in the quarter finals however- I think about 9 or 10 of the remaining teams I could organise it to get there. The problem is I will be travelling Europe throughout the Uni break and have to make detours without it being ridiculously costly. A French or German team in the next round would see me quite happy!

First thing first though, got to beat Aalborg!!!

As for whoever it said was looking at doing Istanbul by train, that was in fact one of the things I have looked at for coming back after the final if I could work out how to get there. Only for the trip (Rather then not liking flying in my case). About a 60 hour effort however, and thats pretty much straight through without any major breaks (I.e. only to change trains). Would be an epic way to go however!

I'm going to Istanbul regardless of having a ticket.

Only problem would be getting into the country without one like last years CL final in moscow? They would only let rag and chelski fans in who had tickets, bussed there and out of the country again.

I think Blue-jim you would be ok for Turkey. The problems last year would I expect have been a visa issue for Russia. For to get into Russia there are all these weird and wonderful rules for getting visas- I was going to try and get there on my travels but ended up not having enough time to get a Russian visa organised as such because it was such a pain in the neck to do so!

For Turkey you don't need to organise a visa before hand, you simply buy one at the border (At least that is what it is for Australian citizens, I'm fairly certain its the same for UK citizens.) for like 20 USD or something similar.

Havent got a British passport so hopefully it'll be the same for Irish passport holders.
