Because at age 7 (81) I stood with Utd fans near the tunnel at the corner of the Kippax and realized I was in the wrong section. Surrounded by cun#s, I cheered when Mckenzie scored and city won 1-0

Any older I'd have been beaten up.

My father, four older brothers and my older sister were all Blues. I don't recall having any other chance I am glad I didn't - fucking love being a Blue.

Went to my local sport shop when I was a kid wanting a shirt for footie training...Only had £10 so it was the bargain rail for me, skipping through naff before landing on the beauty below. I got grief from everyone at training and town(all glory hunting United or Liverpool fans) in general whenever I had it on. So I started supporting us to piss people off more and have loved every moment of it. Unsurprisingly other city supporters are starting to come out of the woodwork down here now though.

Well, sorry, but I just haven't got you people's impeccable pedigree. Not only was there no previous City fan in my family, there wasn't even a football fan as such. Furthermore, was not born in Manchester, or anywhere near it (my mother was from Burnley, does that count?) But I think I've been a blue since about winter/spring 1968, when my family moved, initially, to Didsbury, and then to Hazel Grove. Was never even tempted by the other lot, because, even back then, every kid you met in London claimed to support them, without having been further north than Watford Gap.

Got bored of supporting Chelsea.

According to opposition fans, that how all city fans started supposrting city....

But I mainly started supporting city in like 98 when i was a kid because if my dad. No regrets whatsoever...regardless of how much of a roller-coaster it has been!

I'm very much a late comer/post takeover supporter.

Up until I was 19/20 football had been that thing my dad would drink heavily too and shout at the young me for interupting. As a kid, it was MY fault that I had walked in and his or my brothers team had conceeded. Naturally between that and the chavy, shithead kids at school always banging on about Utd or Liverpool gave me a aversion to football, its what the people who I hated liked. Then Uni came, and I shared a flat with 4 mancs, they did very well to convince me of Footballs merits, joy and of course, being mancs, supporting city came naturally.

My grandad & my father were both about 70% Utd, 30 % city fans, yet being brought up in fallowfield both me & our kid ignored their darkside and have never been anything else than 100% blues
