We had a United / Woodward style window. Big name in, other problems not addressed and useful players let go.
If only the other players had have done something that season too.Let's put it this way he won us the league when he came on against villa
Somewhat simplistic. He didn't want to be here and wanted to move.
Same as Sterling and Jesus
Yeah, I’ve heard nothing else since he left. How much did we try to keep him, was he valued by the manager? I could see why he’d had enough. He’d done the loyal employee thing and wasn’t going to progress at the club imo.Somewhat simplistic.
Your name is ace, seen still little fingers about 7 times in the early eighties. He did a great job for us but after great service if he wants to go then let him go and let’s wish him good luck.
Gabriel also did very well but was in last year of contract and we had signed Haaland and Alvarez.
He always did well in the Chumps League games. The fact is we miss him and have down graded. No biggie but it’s true.Any other games he affected?
Absolute bollocks and I liked him.Letting him go before we had a replacement signed was hubris and we're paying for it, simple as that. We could afford to wait it out as he had 2 years left on his contract. The fact we let it run down that long and then let him go so easily probably made his decision for him. Loved the club and when push came to shove, he was in our best eleven.
He did
But better than what we have now…He’s not as good as some are making out, need to chill out ffs, tidy on the ball, runs in treacle not what we wanted
Absolute bollocks and I liked him.
Not forgetting we've a left back playing in the net !!!Large bollock dropped.
Not just for the fact he can play LB but he can also play midfield, especially the “control” type of midfield game Pep likes.
Also a warrior, leader and a fantastic attitude.
I could understand it if we’d replaced him with an overlapping LB to give Grealish the out ball he obviously needs. However we replaced him with Gomez, who on balance isn’t up to standard.
Funny that because I remember him coming on at 2 0 down to villa at home and he beat several men to set up the first goal, zinchenko changed that game, without him the dippers would be championsFunny how players get better by their absence - he was a decent wall to pass off for the better players, he had no pace so could only play against the teams that didn't have a pacey right winger and it wasn't very often he'd beat a man and get a cross in.
Let's put it this way he helped us win the league when he came on against villa
