Everything points to a Mancini exit soon. Timing may not be Christmas or Jan but its coming.
Simple facts which suggest this is coming:
He is obsessed with the Balotelli project at the expense of his reputation and the clubs progress. Starting Balotelli yesterday was incomprehensible given that Tevez was available. The difference when Tevez came on was incredible.
Secondly, he has taken the club as far as he can and has no track record of European success. I don't see the owner and management wishing to consider the gamble of Mancini in Europe.
Third and most telling, when Jose and Pepe make themselves available a club like City has to pursue them. If you want to be the best in the world you need the best.
It's been a great ride Roberto but time for the next phase. Thanks

The elephant in the room is why on earth have we appointed Soriano and Begiristain in the first place? To improve our youth development etc? Yeah right. And why was Mancini not allowed to get his way in the summer transfer window?

The only thing that's a little odd is the 5 year contract, but I am certain terminating it won't be as lucrative as it first might appear, and also I think it was probably given to him as a thank you for delivering the league title, rather than a commitment going forward.

Yeah, I can really see our business savvy owners giving out 5 year thank you contracts.

Well we'll see won't we clever cloggs.

Agree with that in it´s entirity - phase 3 means a top 3 manager - 2 of those 3 will be available soon. The pisscan will be the last manager ever to last even half as long as he has. Wenger´s only survived because of his resourcefulness in the transfer market allowing Arse to pay off the stadium. Oh and youth has to be given it´s chance which Bob point blank refuses to do

I just wish he would give the likes of 19 year old Nastasic a chance.

I think perhaps the poster means youth as in not costing nearly £15,000,000 from a top Italian club, such as Nastasic, and more along the lines of some of the young guys we have around the first team squad....

Yes we will. Just like we saw two years ago when people were making out his sacking was inevitable. And just like we saw last March/April when people were making out his sacking was inevitable.

Maybe this time it will happen, who knows. Personally don't think the people are in charge are so fickle that they would give out a contract in August and have changed their mind four months later.

Maybe our home grown youth aren't currently as capable as Nastasic is of making a positive contribution straight away.

But he is proof that in Mancini's eyes if you're good enough your old enough.

Yeah, I can really see our business savvy owners giving out 5 year think you contracts.

The contract length doesn't matter, what matters is the severance agreement. It won't be a lot in the scheme of things if it happens in the summer. It won't be much more if it happens sooner, which is certainly looking a lot likelier than it was even a couple of weeks ago. What's absolutely sure is that the contract won't affect City's decision making if they deem Mancini surplus to requirements.

As most people now agree, the timing will probably be as much to do with the availability of the replacement as it is with results.

Whilst the season has been poor so far, exciting times are ahead regardless. Either everything just suddenly clicks and we sweep everyone away and win the league, or we end up with one of the world's best managers.

Classic win-win in the longer term. Hell, if txiki has the balls and influence he's reputed to have, both those things could even happen this season.
what if pepe and the special one are nailed on for chelsea and utd and we win nothing then what?

Do you think Jose will bring more youth through?

I hope not or else we are doomed.

Anyway, we still have:

Klopp is an interesting manager, he is fully involved in the club and goes to youth games and everything. How is his English in case he ever does move to an English club?

Mate, you are rapidly becoming my favourite poster, running rings around the anti Bobby brigade. Respect. Some on here have short memories and are only happy when they perceive there's something to complain about.

If he plays Tevez (subbed by Balo after 10 minutes) in goals, Jo Hart as a holding midfielder and we get nowt but the same excuses after the Newcastle game this weekend.

Klopp won't leave BVB and Pep wants Bayern now so will be interesting if we'll sack Mancini who'd replace him?

Whenever Jaimie Redknapp appears on Sky sat next to Gullit or Wilkins or Souness my Brother goes into a rage and says that his opinion doesn't matter and he should be there just to fetch their Coffees or to book them Taxi's back home.

When we have threads like this I get the same feeling with some posters and their attitude to Mancini. His record in Italy winning Trophies with three seperate Clubs and what he has done here so far should mean that he is afforded the same respect as Jose and Pep. I am not arguing a case for him being better but he deserves to be treated as of the same calibre. He has earned that right.

After spending almost his entire career at Barca any punt on Guardiola would have to be a gamble even with Soriano and Taxi in place and any number of scenarios would be possible with Jose.

Last Season we saw Mancini's side win the Premiership playing a unique style that married the power of Chelsea's title winning sides with the flair of Arsenal's best sides and despite the closeness at the end nobody could touch us. This year it hasn't worked out like that but we still have a long way to go. I cant argue that Europe hasn't been a dissapointment but the greatest advantage we have with our owners is money. Any wise man will tell you that the only really worthwhile thing that Money buys you is time.

I genuinely believe the Manager has earned the right to stay and just as significantly earned the right to be treated in the same bracket as his contempories. I really hope the owners feel the same.

Supposing both of these were true, which I don't think they necessarily are, then it'd be a great argument for not sacking Mancini even if this season ends in disaster. Because after the obvious Mourinho/Pep/Klopp trio you're looking at managers like Pellegrini, Zeman, and Simeone who offer no guarantees at all.

The good thing now mate is that we have "football" men who have dined at the top table in Soriano and Burgerstain - IF we dispense with Bob then you can rest easy that we will have a top drawer replacement fully tapped up.

I've noticed you a couple of times in this thread now. You've added nothing at all to what has in the main been decent football conversation. The only thing that resembled a football post was when you claimed that Mancini wasn't sacked at Inter because of his champions league record. Then an inter fan came on and confirmed you wrong and we didn't see you for dust. I've also noticed you because you made the hilarious post in the Cellar that ' I only started the thread to show Dave and Billy up and now look at how long it is'.

I'm going to be as polite as I can to you. You're way out of your depth. Youre like a little kid in a car full of men going to the game. You're the ball boy amongst a team of premier league footballers, trying with all your might to kick it back. You're the bespectacled lad at the back of the police line at Millwall shouting 'I'll have you all you Millwall cunts'.

I'm hazarding a guess you are very young. If not then you are intellectually feeble. It doesn't really matter because the effect is the same: you're like some annoying little mouse squeak in the background of a piano concerto.

Leave the big boys to talk proper football, son, rather than attempting to derail a proper conversation with your popgun.

I think it is difficult these days with the pressure of managing a top club to be able to gamble on the younger players, it's a results game and I'm not sure that many of the really top current managers such as Jose M and Pep Guardiola can show they have done this. They can bring the odd one through no doubt but all, including Mancini, are never going to suddenly stick 4/5 into the first team...it's too much of a gamble for them.
Having said that, I don't think Mancini has really brought anybody through as yet, has he (?) and he's been here 3 years.

You need the players to bring through. A few have had a taste but none have really shown they deserve more.

Even now our best prospects look to be a year or so away.

Can I suggest you re- read the thread 'dad'. Your obviously confused ( an age thing?) if you think I posted anything about Bobby's departure from Inter..Suggest you check my post downstairs and use the correct quote as well. As it happens Dave, I've had a season ticket for 30 years or so and can hardly , sadly, be called young. Your posting style is generally troll like and occasionally verges on bullying and you also are famous on here for having a selective memory. There are a few on here that I'd be apprehensive of entering a battle of wits with....
You're not even close to being on that list. Can't help feeling it's a great shame that you treat fellow Blues with such contempt. Out of my depth ? That makes you going down for the third time...............

PS: You're funny in an eccentric embarrassing uncle kind of way :)
