Why The Hell Would Anyone Want Mancini Sacked ?

I just dont understand why anyone want to be the new Chelsea? and being the laughing stock of PL. .

Get behind the manager who wins us trophies every season. you cant win everything every year, so you need to be quite deluded to think changing manager will do that. Look att United havent won FA cup for i dont know how many years even their players complain about it so its not like they dont try..
I forgot to mention. United have won two CLs in 20 years one every tenth year.

we have come from midtable and not winning for decades to match Real Madrids catch over the last 3 years. Real Madrid a team already well established on all levels.

Which he is and which is what Moratti will say too, a person who is best qualified to say so.

I have never said Mancini is a better manager than Mourinho. The latters record speaks for itself. Hell I like Mourinho (eye gouging aside)

I have consistently said they are different managers with different skillsets and that Mancini is better equipped to build a squad with a club that has not won anything in years and teach them how to win whereas Mourinho is better equipped to take a winning squad and get it to win more.

Both have a very saleable commodity in what they can do best and I see no problem in recognising their respective talents.
I agree.

However we are at the stage now where we need a Mourninho more than we need a Mancini hence why I have a strong opinion. Doesn't mean I resent him etc. I just feel his time is up and we must move on, for his benefit and for ours.

You like to reply with a sound reasoning post, could you respond to this please becaue it's a genuine question and topic I'm intrigued about. The more responses the better.

''As for Mancini, we all want him to do well because we all know that him doing well means City does well. The problem is if he fails what happens then? Do we throw away a season possibly and replace him mid-campaign or do we carry on till end of season (my personal choice should he fail). Maybe he wins a trophy, what then?''

Changing a manager mid season is a big no for me. You either give him the season or replace him this summer. The key as to what happens will be the relationship with Txiki and Ferran and whether they can work together. If they can't then someone has to go and it won't be Txiki. At the moment thats a great unknown.

As a someone who has backed Mancini from the off I've had all the arguments 'too negative', 'too Italian', 'won't win anything', 'won't win the big games', 'won't win the league' so I'm relaxed on the European front as well. Mancini has got teams out of the Group stage before so saying he never will is easier to defend then 'he'll never win the league'. As for winning the CL - well as Di Matteo proved a good team and immense good fortune can a miracle make.

But it all rests with Mancini and Txiki and can they get on, agree on transfer targets, football philosophy and the rest. If they don't then City will employ a coach that does. Pretty straightforward really.

So have a meeting in private. Use the telephone. Whatever. Just don't do it in a very public place over lunch.
Perhaps they don't need to hide it from Mancini for one reason or other.
Because they were discussing players whom the man represents who perhaps Mancini has identified on his summer wish-list?
There are all sorts of possibilities.

It could be that or it could be that the club & Mancini already know what's going to happen at the end of the season. Or it could be that we're using him in some other capacity. The world of transfers is a very labrynthian one and clubs will use agents to do their buying for them if they feel the agent can get a better deal or has some other way of clinching it.

For one thing, when we're linked directly we attract a premium so it's worth paying someone not knowingly connected to us £1m if they can save us £5m. Or one of his clients might be our target's best mate so they'll use him to effectively tap him up or at least to gauge his reaction to an official approach.

You think it's too early for De Boer to be considered Tolm?

There is nothing to suggest De Boer is being considered in the immediacy, although it's a job he has since publicly admitted he would like at some stage.

Our Academy Campus is at least another three or four years before showing any fruits of the labour.

It's about the immediacy. Football has always been about timing and Pellegrini is available and moving on.

Those links first originated out of his homeland of Chile, back in January, this is the most pertinent of points.

Just as Mancini will have his own long-term relationships with Italian journalists, Pellegrini could well have let it slip to a family member and it's gone from there.

The meeting last week with his agent, although plausible it could be a player, is too much of a coincidence.

Fernandinho is of South American stock, so he has that Begiristain stamp in terms of identifying, as is the Argentinian defender.

In my opinion, Pellegrini will end up at us or PSG this summer.

If Txiki is meeting Pellegrini's agent in public to discuss Pellegrini coming to City then he is an idiot.

If he's doing it to play games then he is a bigger idiot.

There is absolutely no need less than two weeks before a Cup Final to go around shit stirring. Makes absolutely no sense when you can and should conduct any such negotiations in private.

I have a lot of faith in Ferran and Txiki but stupidity is not an endearing trait.

I agree, although another reason perhaps for such a lack of discreetness is Mancini might already knows which way the cards are gonna fall?

In that respect, it's either Mancini is non-plussed, or he has nothing to fear because Begiristian is actually negotiating for a player.

Madrid is a big place, far enough away from prying eyes in Malaga. However, when he interviewed Mourinho for the Barca job, everything was very much cloak and dagger

I've been told that 24Horas in Chile is "very serious media" ala the BBC, they're reporting it as fact. They said roughly "strong rumours in recent days are now fact" and remember Pellegrini is Chilean.

He'll either go at the end of this season or will be here at least another 2 but I'm really not bothered one way or the other. We'll certainly do OK while he's here but if he does stick around, by the time he's finished everyone will realise he's never quite going to be good enough for where we want and need to be.

I pretty much agree PB. That said:
1. The grief the club would get for sacking him would be immense. We WOULD be the Abramovich style monster the press WANT us to be. Further the continual speculation going forward would cause long term damage to the new manager, team, club, owner AND Abu Dhabi.
2. He is good enough to get the better of Red Nose at the swamp. So far just over 50% of the time. He is certainly impervious to Red Nose's mind games as well (unlike Wenger and the Waiter for example).
3. Continuity is a good thing - so long as the man picked is better than OK. Mancini IS better than Ok. continuity HAS allowed Red Nose to do better things at the swamp that he would have done elsewhere. The same applies to Mancini so it would be nice to be proved wrong. he is certainly good enough to win pots in England!
(Yes I know, I wanted Hughes out the Summer after he was appointed - but it was clear to anyone with eyes, ears and a brain - even then - that his ability to spend serious money was non existent - as was his ability to manage 'Galacticos' and play to a plan.)
