Txiki Begiristain, manager of Manchester City, met Monday in Madrid with Manuel Pellegrini's agent, Jesus Martinez, to negotiate his possible move to the City. Pellegrini, coach has always been the taste of Begiristain, I already wanted to sign for Barcelona when he entered the Chilean Villarreal, has a contract with Malaga but the same agent, Jesus Martinez, has admitted in recent days the future of coach is uncertain.

Begiristain and Pellegrini agent have been in central Wellington Goizeko Madrid restaurant. Now, is the favorite to replace Mancini, whose future leaks despite published this weekend around an Italian continuity is uncertain
It would do more harm than good to change manager, we will look like Chelsea.
Or are we gonna change manager everytime we dont win the league?

Which player does he represnt?

But we won't. That's like saying any club who changes manager looks like Chelsea. Bayern have been through about 2 or 3 managers in the time Mancini has been here and are considered the perfect football model.

I don't understand this line of thinking. If we sacked our manager every season then we'd look like Chelsea, not if we sacked our manager after 3 1/2 years (a lifetime in modern football).

OK. kind of a plain response. So you disagree with what I said about the philosophical difference or you just don't care about that kind of stuff?

Do you know how many different pages of debate there have been in this forum on the subject of Mancini and possible alternatives?

2 posts suggests that you have just pitched up and pitched in without any understanding of the points of view or knowledge of people who have been regular contributors to this debate.

You might be advised to do a bit of homework before trying to teach people to suck eggs.

So if you've not been involved in the months of going round in circles you can contribute? The truth is read 2-3 pages of this thread and you know all the arguments for both sides. I actually thought it was a reasonable point of view, he's right Pep and Mourhino are two opposing philosophies

With you on this one LC. It's up there with 'we can't sack a manager for not winning the league FFS.' It won't be the achievements (or lack of) that Mancini is judged on but his approach to managing the club with Txiki at the helm.

Pellegrini has to be where the smart money is to replace Mancini, should he go, and my gut feel is that he probably will. There was a bizarre leak a few months ago from chile that he had 'an agreement' with city.

Very interesting if it happens and a huge call from begerestain and soriano especially if it turns out they purposely haven't engaged the obvious candidates in guardiola and mourinho.

The plot thickens daily.

See where you coming from but we know how the media will spin it! Us as fans mainly would see it as that but media set the feeling among none city supporters so really as a club we can't win..

Interesting news that. But yes, it would be good to be able to rule out they werent meeting over a potential player move first though

I see it like this, we are still quite inexperienced and new to the whole "expect to win all games and win trophies every season team" i want us to really establish ourselves at the top of english football before we take chances on new managers. we aint broken yet so no need for a quick fix

I wouldn't worry about the media if Mancini goes. I'm pretty certain it would suit all parties to present any parting of ways as a resignation for family reasons,

I think we have to start thinking who gives a fuck what anyone else thinks without appearing arrogant like the rags or chelsea.
