It would be great to go back to some of theses comments in print form just for the mischief people could cause by quoting them in the right place on forums and newspaper comment columns. Can some of you guys who are more computer savvy than me dig some tit bits out from the recent historical archives of theses so called 'pundit and reporter ' columns.

Express not a proper paper .
In fact like the majority of the papers.
In fact when I was at the Sheffied Wednesday match
I was near the press .
In fact I dispise the press more than the away fans .
At least away fans don't write SHIT about us .

Hello Rafa
I know what you mean :)
FACT !!!!

Bony is already falling victim to the strange forces that afflict any player contaminated by City! Back in 2010 Ya Ya Toure was reduced to the level of "an overpriced holding midfielder" before his signature was dry on the forms, mere months after Lee Dixon had declared that Arsenal would again be invincible with him in their team. David Silva deteriorated into "too lightwieght for the PL" from the genius who would turn Chelsea into the new invincibles in the same summer, and a year later "real questions" arose over Sergio Aguero, whom Manchester United had declined to sign ( though he had always wanted to play for them) because he was overpriced. Van Persie improved 100% when he chose the rags over City. Hazard ceased to be a promising player and became a genius when he chose Chelsea. Even Chelsea legend Lampard has finally been rumbled, and Ladyman has laid bare the dodgy double dealing which has left City's reputation, and Lampard's, in tatters and left questions (posed by Arsene Wenger?) to be answered!

It is hard to get a realistic view of such players' talent. Hence we see Merlin create works of art regularly, Toure give breathtaking displays of power and control and Aguero win games while we're blinking. But it makes no difference because the media still exists in its London bubble where the footballer of the year is always from London, unless one from another establishment club has a claim. It's one of the ten commandments that Fabregas is the outstanding midfielder of the PL, Hazard is it's most valuable player, Costa the outstanding striker and Mourinho the inevitable title winner. And then there's Wilshere and Ramsey... City are never quite the real deal... and we must be ready to learn that in Bony we haven't got quite what we hoped.

'Twas ever thus.

I think it's mildly amusing watching players we buy get talked down and if I'm honest I think has helped us secure at least one title.

who was it said that Aguero would be the worst transfer deal that particular window.. Im thinking cascarino but could be wrong.

It was that "expert" Charlie Nicholas if I recall correctly.

If the club think he's not worth the money wanted then so be it. Come the summer there will be many more players available. I remember when Chelsea went and got Torres (a proven Premiership goalscorer) in January, a friend of mine really wanted Aguero at the Bridge (Aguero was heavily linked at Chelsea for a good couple of years) he knew that transfer would mean no Aguero and he was devastated. That summer, we all know what happened next...

Aguero become a citizen. He still talks about it, what if Chelsea had waited until the summer....

I remember Monreal was seen as the next coming of Ashley Cole when Wenger bought him.

Pace of Alba, crossing of Alves and the stamina of Zabaleta.

Didn't take long for the truth to prevail. Charlie Nicholas is a terrible, terrible judge of a player. The only one on that panel worth a listen to is Le Tiss. The rest are nuthuggers of previous employers.

Bringing this discussion back on to Bony I'd be flabbergasted to see this deal fall through now. I'd say it's a done deal and the hold up is us trying to get the best deals for Nastastic and Sinclair aka the deadwood.

Part of me is praying we get a bid for Dzeko so we can buy Lacazette or Dybala. I

Edin will go in the summer just before the best player in the world comes in to take his number.

PMSL when in the Summer the Rags signed Kagawa, Tom Hopkinson (obviously a Rag) who writes in the People picked him out as the best of the Summer signings. Only a few weeks later another reporter (can't remember who) said Kagawa reminded him of Johan Cruyff.

Little doubt one of Dzeko and Jovetic at least will go but at least this time both will have decent currency.

No matter the status of the striker I hope gone are the days when a striker with at least one title to his name will be sold off for peanuts no matter the baggage.

Juventus must have been laughing when we sold Tevez for what we did.

Should have asked for and received at least twice what they paid for him.

We will end up getting Bony for between 25 mill and 30 mill with an add on.

25 mill for Negredo is fair enough.

When Chelsea beat us at the Etihad in what the media labeled the 'Mourinho Masterclass' Hazard basically beat us on his own. His performance, and I said so at the time, was the best performance by an opposition player I have ever seen either at Maine Road or Etihad. He is a joy to watch and I would love him to wear God's chosen colour of blue.

Seriously?

You must have missed the Dortmund game when Gotze or Gundogan played.

Or when Berbatov, single-handedly helped a ten-man Spurs knock us out of the Worthington Cup.

Or even a half-fit Ronaldinho in a half-arsed friendly game showed his class.

Or perhaps the day Henry came to Maine Road and had them 4-0 by half time.

You might also want to consider the standing ovation Zola got at Maine Road.

And I'm not even going to mention Dalglish owning our place for a decade.

Hazard wasn't even the best player on the night, which was a toss up between Cahill or Matic.

All which would have been moot (as proved a couple weeks later) if not forced to play Demichelis is midfield because of an injury to Fernandinho.

Hazard is indeed a key player for them this season, their only get out of jail free card because he can bring the ball 30 yards upfield.
Gazza for spuds at Maine rd was a masterclass.

Tevez did not want to sign another contract either we sell him for cheap like we did or he would have left for free.

With Milner and Dzeko not even in the squad today....could there be transfer talks going on? If the Swans are not willing to move from the 30mil value on Bony, maybe we do have to move a player to complete the deal? All guess work and rumours but strange to see those 2 not in the team after Pelle saying they were available....

Dzeko is just 1 of 3 coming back from injury (possibly 4 since Jovetic is not long back) and 2 of them are on the bench so I wouldn't read too much into him being missing today.
