Manchester City are looking to bring in a fourth striker in January and are close to sealing a deal for the 26-year-old Ivory Coast forward.

Swansea City manager Garry Monk said negotiations are ongoing with Manchester City over the transfer of Wilfried Bony amid reports suggesting a £27m transfer fee has been agreed.

The Blues are looking to bring in a fourth striker in January and are close to sealing a deal for the 26-year-old Ivory Coast forward.

Monk said after Swansea's draw with West Ham on Saturday: "It's still ongoing, the same as the start of the week. I think the two clubs are talking to each other, trying to finalise the matters, so it's still ongoing at this moment and until it's 100 per cent finalised there's nothing else I can really say."

Dutch website Voetbal International are reporting that the fee has been agreed, with negotiations over a four-year contract still ongoing.

Bony played in the Dutch Eredivisie with Vitesse Arnhem from 2011-2013 and they stand to earn money from the deal.

With Milner and Dzeko not even in the squad today....could there be transfer talks going on? If the Swans are not willing to move from the 30mil value on Bony, maybe we do have to move a player to complete the deal? All guess work and rumours but strange to see those 2 not in the team after Pelle saying they were available....
Dzeko is just 1 of 3 coming back from injury (possibly 4 since Jovetic is not long back) and 2 of them are on the bench so I wouldn't read too much into him being missing today.
But what about Milner?

Milner had a slight injury I heard which I hope is true

If he went to the dippers I'd be gutted...

A little off topic sorry

He may see it as a chance to replace Gerrard

You might be right...The longer talks go on, the more I'm starting to think he would have signed by now if he was staying....Just seems like he's keeping his options open....He's had more game time than ever this season but still not signed the new contract City have been offering....I think he's an important player for this team as he can play a number of positions but something is stopping City/Milner agreeing to that new contract...hope it happens soon....If it isn't going to happen, City need to atleast get some money for him before he leaves on a free.....

Seems like rumours of an agreed deal for Bony could be true....makes sense that Vitesse would know what is happening...

Like VI, De Telegraaf reports the fee as somewhere around £27m with Vitesse owed about 7% of it from Swansea.

De Telegraaf in Holland also reporting fee agreed for Bony. Suggestions the info over there is coming from Vitesse, who are owed a % of fee

According to Fox Sports in Holland, Bony has signed a 4 1/2 yr contract at City with the transfer fee around 36m euros. #MCFC

Considering what Gary Monks just said about talks ongoing and won't say its done till its 100%, I do expect us to be the only team in it and we should wrap this up soon.

Does this mean deal done for Bony?..This is from his old club......

Bony transfer (around €2.5m) is very welcome with FFP situation. Still necessary to sell players this winter and receive more money.

Hazard is overrated. More media hype and chelski who will use the attention to inflate his value and sell him for 80-90m to a club like real or psg. If anything cesc is the better midfielder on that team.
Honestly please just stop watching football.

must admit it made me think wtf?

Would be quite a weird statement from the real club. "Still necessary to sell players this winter and recieve more money." Usually something you keep close.

Seems to be a £27m fee and when you consider we are selling Negredo for £25m in the summer, who is three years older, that is a great deal for us.

Really excited to see him play for us, only downside is we have to wait until after the ACON!

Sorry everyone I know I shouldn't copy reports from the Daily Star but this is one report I would very much like to see happen!!!

EXCLUSIVE: Man City to sell TWO strikers to make way for Bony and Lacazette

MAN CITY are planning a £100m overhaul of their strike force.

<a class="postlink" href="http://www.dailystar.co.uk/sport/football/419428/EXCLUSIVE-Man-City-Jovetic-Negredo-Bony-Lacazette" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">http://www.dailystar.co.uk/sport/footba ... -Lacazette</a>

Coming IN is £30m Wilfried Bony from Swansea, with Lyon’s £25m Alexandre Lacazette another target.

Going OUT are Stevan Jovetic, now a £20m target for Juventus, and Alvaro Negredo, whose loan move to Valencia will become a permanent deal at £25m.

That is £100million worth of business in this transfer window and the summer and would see City almost balance the books.

And it could be increased as there are doubts about Edin Dzeko's future with the club, with a £15million departure a possibility in the summer.

The Etihad outfit hope to complete the signing of Bony, 26, this week and fellow hitman Lacazette, 23, is a summer target.

Rob Newman, City's European scout, headed up a three-man delegation from the club to assess Lacazette in action last weekend.

They saw him score his 19th goal in only 21 games this season as Lyon defeated Lens 3-2 in the French Cup.

City face competition, though.

Lacazette is also a target for PSG and Inter Milan.

Jovetic, meanwhile, is wanted on loan by Juve this month, with a view to a £20m deal in the summer for the Montenegrin, 25.

His time at City has been hampered by injury problems.

two things:
1. its funny how they make it sound like a 100M spend whereas its simple a net spend of close to 0 if you take into account Dzeko. actually a negative net spend
2. if juventus make it a guaranteed 20M buy for jovetic, i say send him on loan

'£100 million Overhaul' - what a ridiculous headline

Can't see a anyone giving 20mil for Jovetic, never mind an Italian club especially when you consider the peanuts we got for players such as Tevez, Robinho and Balotelli

Goal now also saying the £27 million fee agreed
The striker is set to join the Premier League champions in a £27m deal with Manuel Pellegrini's men now finalising personal terms with the 26-year-old
Manchester City have agreed a £27 million move for Swansea City striker Wilfried Bony, Goal understands.

The Premier League champions have been trying to conclude a deal with the Welsh club for the past week, and the club are now finalising personal terms with Bony.

Vitesse, Bony's former club, are due to receive 10 per cent of the total fee due to a clause in his move to the Liberty Stadium.

It is understood the Ivory Coast striker will earn around £75,000 per week at the Etihad Stadium, as the Blues can only spend the same amount on wages as they did in the 2013-14 seasons due to the Financial Fair Play restrictions placed upon them by Uefa.

He will, however, earn a number of bonuses and incentives.

The base £75,000 amount is roughly what is earned by defender Matija Nastasic, who has found himself out of the first team this season and is on the verge of January move, with Schalke leading the chase.

FFP restrictions have weighed heavily on City's recent transfer dealings, with the club entitled to spend less than £50m in the summer market in order to avoid a Uefa fine of the same amount.

The penalties were also thought to be the reason behind letting striker Alvaro Negredo, who hit the ground running at the start of last season, leave the club for Valencia on a loan deal in the final days of the transfer window.

City have relied on the goals of Sergio Aguero at certain points this season, with Stevan Jovetic and Edin Dzeko both struggling with injuries, although they did manage to close the gap on league leaders Chelsea without their Argentine striker over the Christmas period.

Jovetic is easily worth what we paid for him. I would be looking for £25 million for him. Or ideally, loan him to Juve until the summer on the condition that we then use him as part of a player plus cash deal for Pogba. And Dzeko is easily worth the same amount too. Why are all our players always criminally undervalued when we are selling them? £15 million is an insult to Edin. You'd probably be expecting to pay that kind of money for somebody like Ings from Burnley. If we were looking at buying either of them from another club they'd never be available for those prices.
