I know this is a thread about Bony and I apologize for my post not being about him. Just wanted to say that some of the posts about Dzeko are really twattish. I understand the excitement of a shiny new toy in Bony but why the need to dismiss or mock Dzeko. He has scored some very important goals for us. If you prefer Bony, fine but I don't see why the need to talk about Dzeko as some do.

Totally agree, people need to look again at where ed is on the lists of premier league scorers to remind themselves how good he is
Bony is a Negredo replacement, pellers has said so many times that he wants 4 strikers and he likes ed a lot,he is not going to get rid of him,it'll be back to 2 strikers when they are all fit

Despite the fact he scored the goals that won us league last season some people just can't appreciate what they've got
There are so many Dzeko haters on here that you sometimes question if it's a City forum. Some are absolutely blind, or just too proud to admit a mistake.

Value is pretty important due to ffp. If we can't bid on a Reus or a Player of that calibre down the road because we've spunked dough on bony then it matters.

I'm not disputing bony is good. He just isn't good enough to justify that fee. Can find plenty of players that standard for a lot less. Strategically poor.

Name me a striker with 1 in 2 ratio in the toughest league in the world that you could sign in january for between 25-30 million?

W-I-L-F-R-I-E-D B-O-N-Y

Am I right?

errm YES

Lots of us like Edin, and there's no reason to believe that even if we do get Bony (and I really hope we do) that Edin won't play a big part in the title run-in.

Just one question. Does anyone know what we have or are wanting to pay for him as I have not seen anything confirmed or agreed by the club at this moment so it’s all just speculation by the media at present isn’t it?

Would be a great signing. He's strong and is a good finisher. With the chances we create he should flourish.

No doubt he will be known in the media as the 'expensive city fwd' and not on the goals he has scored and will score!

I'm not a Dzeko hater, infact he's scored some amazing goals for us, that helped win the league in the past.... but you have got to ask yourself, what has he done this season??? You are only as good as your last goal and he hasn't scored many this season even before he was injured..."THIS" season he has been terrible and his lack of effort is what has people questioning if he should move on.....Since he signed a big contract extension in the offseason, he has scored 2 league goals and looked slow and lacking in effort..."IF" he plays like that all this season, do you think City management will keep saying....its ok, because he scored some great goals for us in 2013/14 season...the answer is NO...because he's getting 100k plus a week to score......I would love for him to regain his form but do we really believe Bony is going to be a 4th striker?....No, City are thinking of signing a striker, not just because of injuries but because of the play of Dzeko/ Jovetic "before" the injuries.....

A lot of people are underestimating this guy simply because he plays for Swansea. if he played for a bigger team, lets say for example our feeder club Arsenal and had the scoring record he has got over the last few seasons (without factoring in the probability that he'd actually score more in a better team) then nobody would be questioning this buy.

£30 million is about right. No bargain but not overly excessive and even less so when you factor in the usual January window inflation. We're paying little more than £5 million for Negredo's replacement. They're quite similar in style but Bony has a few years on him and is already settled in the league.
Who else would the people complaining rather see come in that would be attainable for a similar price and crucially. actually be available?

There will be a lot of red faces on here should he sign as he's guaranteed goals.

+1 to this.

Scored some really crucial goals for us (QPR), Notts County equalizer at start of FA cup winning run, vital goals in last year's run in, etc

Forgetting and understimating Dzekos contribution ( 5 titles) is more raggish than questioning Βony s transfer.
