Adebayor and Santa Cruz are the real flops there, Mario was a calculated risk given his age at the time, he could still become a top draw striker but he just doesn't seem capable of maturing / developing in the right way.

Don't agree that we need 4 strikers.

If Jovetic could stay fit we'd have had no striker crisis. Dzeko's currently injured but he's not injuryprone and neither is Bony.

I wouldn't sell Jovetic in Jan but I would happily go into next season with

Aguero
Bony
Dzeko

and use the money/place on someone like Isco


Last season we played 2 up top too much and this season we've had to play 1 up top too many times. Middle ground for me next season. Bear in mind that last year Jovetic barely played and we coped ok despite Aguero's injuries and playing 2 up a lot.

Agree with the middle ground approach, we should start home/easy games with 2 and revert to 1 and start all CL and tough games with 1 and revert to 2 if required for the win. 3 out and out strikers is the right number imo. Jovetic should only ever be playing behind a full on striker so is a slightly different case but as we allready have Silva and Nasri who prefer that role then he is somewhat down the pecking order. I like him but I think with everyone fit he is the one who will miss out.
