Fair enough, my mistake, but there's a difference between submitting squad sheets and changing shirt numbers.

Thought we would have heard things early today as he's off to meet the Ivory Coast so obviously not as advanced as the media made out.

Why not? Transfers take along time even if its at an advanced stage, not to mention the medical which takes hours and on top of that he has to do the whole tour and media shoot, interviews etc...

True. We should get it all tied up behind the scenes but tactically delay it until end of month so Swansea continue paying him. Potentially save us £250,000. FFP and all that!!

Swansea striker Wilfried Bony's move to Manchester City has hit a stumbling block because the clubs cannot agree a fee for the Ivorian.

ESPN sources understand Swansea are hoping to get £30 million for the 26-year-old, who was the Premier League's top scorer in the calendar year 2014 with 20 goals, while City are yet to offer that much.

City's position is complicated after being restricted to a £49m net spend for the financial year by UEFA as part of their punishment for breaching the European governing body's financial fair play regulations

In the summer, Manuel Pellegrini's side spent £40m on Eliaquim Mangala, £12m on Fernando and an initial £4.4m on Willy Cabellero.

While they recouped money through the departures of Javi Garcia, Jack Rodwell and Gareth Barry, it remains to be seen if they are willing and able to pay £30m for Bony.

Personal terms are expected to be a formality if the two clubs can agree a fee for the former Vitesse Arnhem forward, who scored 25 goals in his first season at the Liberty Stadium.

While Tottenham are also reportedly interested in Bony, with suggestions they could offer Kyle Naughton and Tom Carroll in part-exchange, they are yet to contact Swansea.

Bony might not be available to play for City, should they sign him, or Swansea, if no deal is agreed, until the middle of February as he is joining up with Ivory Coast for the African Cup of Nations.

Bony became Swansea's record signing when they paid £12m for him in 2013 and his sale, especially at £30m, would smash the club record for an outgoing player, currently held by Joe Allen, who commanded a £15m fee when he joined Liverpool in 2012.

Swansea will accept our offer eventually because they know Bony wants to go and they will want a few weeks to get a replacement in.

Anything around £25m is massive for a club like Swansea, I can't see them being greedy for more, that price is about right for Bony.
 
This was posted on twitter this morning....anyone know if Bony made it to Bridgewater Hospital for that medical? thanks...
