I was told two months ago that Jose was desperate to sign Bony. Boy will he be vexed.

Read Swansea forums today and as expected they're really gutted. Mature bunch as a whole though, many wishing him well and hoping their board invests back into the team. It's laughable that Jenkins questioned the 12m fee for Bony and had the audacity to question Laudrup (whom was a fucking star for them), he's made 18m profit from this deal!

I'm hoping Swansea stay up this season. This deals been in the offing for a while now and they've kept schtum in comparison to say Blackpool/Hollawaywho wouldn't shut the fuck up about Charlie Adam etc. I'm not sure on Gomis but hope he takes the opportunity of main striker and runs with it.

Bony isn't the quickest, just like Negredo but my God is he powerful. Silky touch and tidy finisher. My only question is how he performs with the added expectations now. I'm hoping he links up well with Aguero just like Negredo did. I think he will be a great player for holding the ball up and we already know he's able to play as a line striker.

How do we know the obnoxious one won't try and scupper this?

He's trying to at this very moment according to my pal who gives me the snippets I occasionally post here.

Chelsea are stuck with FFP. They are trying to move Salah on and Everton are interested apparently. Even still tent are stuck. Chelsea want Swansea to keep him until the summer and they'll match any offer of fees and wages. Problem for them is Txiki has had this ball rolling for a few months.

I've got a bony thinking about our strike force :)

Haha well said.

I said early on in the thread that this is a great signing, with our Midfield behind him and his raw power and quick feet, we have an great attacking force again.

Devils advocate. They got Remy relatively cheap. They could easily get their money back for him from numerous clubs. Could they ship him off to make way?

Trouble with Remy is he has heart trouble. There aren't many clubs willing to take that gamble.

Without being funny then, how did he play all those games for Newcastle and why did chelsea buy him in that case.

Thought it was going too well for one of our transfers.
Hope you're right and we land him in the end.

I have absolute faith in Txiki.

Check his form. If we want a player he moves during the season and when the window open we make the move.

Chelsea have to sell players to make this move.

I'd be more worried about Real making a bid as they never replaced Higuain. Just me being paranoid as Real always seem to chase the players we want.

They still would of have to manage the player very carefully and as a main striker he would be just too risky.

Jose have 17 foreigners already. He would have to move very very quick and ship someone.

havent they moved their third keeper on?

Been thinking this too. They moved him on so have space for a foreign player.

Hopefully Bony knows that we play a 4-4-2 and he would be playing with Aguero or another striker. In Chelsea's case he wouldn't be guaranteed playing time ahead of Costa.

Chelsea take punts on players because they can afford to.

Demba Ba for example.

Newcastle take risks too. Ba had no contract and they took him on and sold. Stoke passed up the chance. Newcastle tool Remy on loan as they had few options since they sold Ba and QPR bought because they needed a striker and they themselves have bought poorly.

Remy would only bring in the sum he cost. Chelsea need Salah gone and would likely offer Remy to Swansea till the summer on loan etc.

It's all speculative. I'll wait for our ITKs and Di Marzio for information but watching SSN and seeing his agent say upcoming days filled me with joy. If this was a bid war I'd say he'd play it down?

Bony will be our main man at set pieces which we criminally waste. Our midfield is the cream of this league imho and I think Navas will provide many assists for Bony.

Come on Ray. There were plenty of clubs in for him and £10m is a lot to spend on someone with heart problems. He played 26 league games for Newcastle last year.

Bony can't make Silva/Nasri/Kolarov/Navas/Milner clear the first man

As a main striker teams will be very wary of signing Remy imho.

Fair enough. If he was on the market for £10m right now I reckon a lot of clubs would be in for him but we might never know.

Bony has already played for QPR as well as Chelsea this year so couldn't play for anyone else.

From what I've seen this season, Bony is without doubt the best striker available in this window. Yes he's scored a hatful of goals but in addition his linkup play is excellent, his touch is great and he's as strong as an ox. In addition even though he's not very tall, he's good in the air and has a great leap. My only concern is that we would lose him every year with ACON at the same time as Yaya, which means weakening the team at what is a very important stage of the season. Fortunately, we have other great players, and normally we'd expect to cope.

I think he'd be a top signing and the thought of him playing with Sergio & Silva is mouthwatering

It's every other year mate and we have cover

That's weird, it feels like every year!
