man u v spuds next week. Cant remember when i wanted the rags to win a game.
Could mean them winning the league, with chelsea having to go to liverpool.

Mentioned this some time last month: I always want United to win when their results directly effect us! 'cheering for' them is something slightly different than needing them to win! I wouldn't cheer or even give a clenched fisted 'yes' to their goals nor their result, I'd just straight faced think "nice one, that's good for us!"

But I don't give a toss about them winning stuff! it just raises the bar for what we have to achieve and beat over the next 50 years!

FFS its like who did you like in WW2 the japs or germans.
come on baconface and chuckle and shrek they will be gutted when they beat spuds 4 nil and know it is helping us will PMSL

Anyone saying they wont is in denial. Do you think the rags are saying: "I hope we dont beat spurs, cause it will help city out"!
to be fair i think some would be saying that as there are some of these clowns in every clubs fans. i was with a couple of mates today who are liverpool fans and they both said that they'd sacrifice getting 4th to stop united from winning the league, ok its slightly different for them because of the record of winning titles but oh my days! no matter how long i live i will never understand this viewpoint

And we get called bitter!!

I think we all just need to accept that different people can get a buzz from different aspects of being a city supporter... if you get a buzz from seeing multi-million pound mega star signings and glitzy trophies then thats fine,
but i personally get more excited about local rivalry and seeing city players with a genuine passion and love for the club.
My favourite ever city related picture is one of kinky, walking off the pitch using his city shirt to wipe the tears from his eyes (cant remember if it was due to relegation or possibly his last ever game for the club)... that picture will always mean more to me as a city supporter than any picture of some £35 million player lifting a nice shiney trophy, i'm sorry if people cant understand that but its just the way i feel.
