Will I still have these season tickets next season?

Sounds like you got the chance to purchase a newly available seat ( not a deferred one) but that this isn’t guaranteed for anything beyond this season, as is the case with the value season tickets. You didn’t read the terms and conditions that the club sent to you prior to purchasing. Caveat emptor.

I thought the terms for those deferring stated that when they return they may not get their original seat back and might have to move to a different seat or block and pay as per that new seat’s pricing … that was the whole downside of deferring … as then the new person on a new seasoncard now gets to keep theirs for renewal next season, if they however don’t renew, only then the original deferring one can take that same one back?!? Basically when next season comes, those with current season’s seasoncard holders take priority over anyone who deferred earlier or gave up all together. First dibs would be for renewals for current seasoncard holders, who all when renew will have option to move seats, then next would be those coming back who had deferred (to see if their original seat is available after renewals and moves), and finally the last lot would be the cityzen members waitlist … if there is enough seats to go around. That’s been my understanding from the original emails. I haven’t checked the emails that followed the renewals or new seasoncards (both situations apply in my family’s case).

It would be interesting to know how many SC holders took the option to defer for one season. Which was a reasonable gesture to be fair given Covid uncertainty etc etc. As I recall the risk of deferring was the possibility of not getting your original seat back which is why I personally didn’t defer. However the risk was if as a consequence your seat became part of a reconfiguration project possibly due to safe standing and or advertising. My interest is if say 5k deferred and instead of making their seats available as match day tickets they actually allowed new SC holders to take them for one season with the caveat that the ticket can quite rightly be reclaimed by the “deferred owner” then if all 5k reclaimed come 2022/23 we would have 50k season card holders if the figure was much higher we’d have more SCs than seats in the ground……..only our ticket office could achieve this debacle.

I had no idea at any point if the season cards I purchased were deferred ones.

I was simply purchasing Cityzens memberships as I do every season in the hope of continuing on the waiting list and then the "Season ticket" box lit up from being greyed out once I paid the Cityzens cards and jumped at the chance to purchase them

I hope these aren't deferred ones as I wouldn't of bothered for just one season.
I may have jumped the gun in presuming these were deferred season cards. Apologies for that. Hopefully the terms and conditions were just the ones that apply to everyone and it’s just a case of the club covering themselves in case someone has to be relocated due to new advertising hoardings, hospitality or some other reason.
Anyway once again, hope it all works out ok.

Only our ticket office could manage to potentially create a situation where next season if everyone returns from deferrals we then have more people than available seats.....they’ll have well and truly fucked up the empty seats at home song.

This is all assumptions, we don’t have that many seasoncard holders, out of 54k stadium capacity we only have 36k-40k max seasoncards, and even if 5k have deferred this season (again, an assumed no.) then the club has not released 5k new seasoncards … there is no way that situation would arise where they’d have more demand for seasoncards than 54k that can be seated in! The empty seats song is safe!!

Have you met our ticket office? :)

I always thought the number was 42k season ticket holders...what ever it is hope it works out for everyone next season.
Unfortunately been on the end of a ticket office cock up myself in recent years, relocated SS3 when it was first built only for them to phone me 3 days before the first game to explain our seats weren't actually going to be fitted in the stand due to the seg lines they hadn’t factored in when initially selling the tickets, nightmare to try and resolve with them, told us no seats available in pairs etc and ended up in exile in CB3 for a season as they had resold our original seats in the east stand.
