Will People stop having a pop at Robbie.... Please

Sorry mate but that's bollocks. I have been going for years. I want Hughes to stay. I want Robinho to perform to the best of his abilities. I am a realist and I also know my spanish football and Robinho was inconsistent in Spain and didn't do it against the big club or away from home. All I'm saying is stop picking the lad away from home as he does nothing on the ball or off it. Oh and he isn't World Class he is just very good when he wants to be[/quote]

If you're a realist, was it was Robinho's fault that Essien was unmarked? That Superman was less direct than he normally is?

For a non-world class player, Chelsea seemed quite keen to buy him..

It is clear to see that Robinho, a long with a few others, simply do not turn up away. The fact that so many other of our players seem like hollow shells away from home in my view is a simple product of poor management. Now I'm not saying that Hughes is a poor manager however some of his tactics have raised a few concerns. Couple that with our away performances and its clear that he needs to re-think his away strategy.

Robinho will always be in the team away because he has the skill and ability to be able to turn a game with the touch of a ball. OK he hasn't really been able to do it away from home yet but he is still settling in to this country, the prem and our team. When you look at his stats, 23 games, 11 goals and 4 assists its ludicrous to suggest that he should be sold because with out him this season I dread to think where we would be as of this point.

People seem to like to whinge and whine for any trivial reason, maybe it's easier than thinking up something that could be construed as constructive, I went to see the youth team against Norwich and sat behind me were two gentlemen who I can only describe as ' Statler and Waldorph'. All game it was ' what a f****** wasted pass', ' I coulda done better' and similar comments. I obviously understand people getting annoyed, dejected and upset sometimes, but surely to slate our team off is the opposite of what should be done, we've been in far worse situations so why anybody is (or was) expecting the earth this season is beyond me. I know myself it's hard to be patient, especially with the swampmonsters doing ok but I think it's a case of let everyone gob off with themselves and slag us off, it's only a matter of time before we ram their negative comments where only the pile cream'll make them feel better.

Please dont wish me harm for this but robbie scored 5 of those 11 in two games (Stoke & Hull) and has been largely missing away from home so his goal record is a little mis-leading in terms of regularity, but he is a good player and I want him at our club along with Hughes. We have to back our players but I do think Hughes has to be brave and drop him to the bench where possible when we are away from home

Robinho is world class. Anyone can see he has that something special. The problem is he is so inconsistent. If we are to challenge the top 4 next year he has got to put it in week in week out. I suppose a few other players could be singled out for critisism, but the other players did not come with the price tag of 32million and the reputation world class.

OK fair point that his goal tally may be slightly mis-leading, and I guess if you wanted to take it further none of his goals, bar the Arsenal one, and his free kick against Chelsea have been against really top opposition.

In all honesty when you pay £32+ million for a player you EXPECT them to be able to turn it on at home and away so in that respect he has been slightly disappointing. That said he seems to of turned into a bit of a scape goat for a few fans which is ashame because I 4 -1 (lol) can see him becoming great at this club.

agreed with all except the £32+ million, that was down top Madrid & ADUG not robbie.

Not saying he's not a good player but for some people he is the messiah and can do no wrong. In my book he is a very good on his day but he doesn't have his day anyway near often enough.

I totally agree. He is a good player and hopefully be better next year when he's settled, but if any other player looked as disintrested as him on sunday, or most away games, then he would have been whipped off earlier and reprimanded.

I still believe, after all this 'one of the best players in the world', we would miss SWP and maybe a couple of others more than we'd miss robinho.
