To win the title you need momentum in the run in we havent had that where as Liverpool has .if Liverpool do win it ,it woiud be a fantatic achievment because any team that can go on a run like they have done quite honestly deserves it .having said that it not over till the fat lady sings ,so ge tyour fingers out City & show the world what we are made of

We need to be totally focused on securing top 3 now.

Arsenal are one point behind us, Everton two (if they win)

I know we have two games on them but Everton still have to play us. We cannot afford another home slip up.

Monday is a must win game and not just from a slim chance of the title point of view.

If the unthinkable happened and we lose on Monday then we could be in serious trouble.

Without Yaya and silva and against a west Brom side that can score goals, it might not be as straightforward as some think.

I agree entirely.

Liverpool barring a miracle are champions.

I would now settle for top 3 because missing out on Champs League would be awful to our future prospects.

Barring a miracle! One defeat and its in our hands, hardly a miracle.

Mathematically it is possible we can still win the league.

However the momentum is with Liverpool. They are in great form and their last game is Newcastle at home. We on the other hand have hit a brick wall with 3 of our stellar players carrying knocks and 2 points out of the last 9 games.

I would love to be proved wrong but the best thing we can hope for is to be assured of qualifying for next years Champs League.

Re: Title still possible

We can still win it. Liverpool's objective every game is to reach game over in the first half. They have shown signs of vulnerability in later stages of their games on more than one occasion but by that time the damage to the opposition has been done. I mention this because Mourinho is probably the one guy who can contain them in the first half and deal with them in the second. I will not be at all surprised to see Chelsea take 3 points from Anfield. Then the pressure and self-doubt set in and who knows what will happen then. Of course we need to win all our games but we must remember we have the capability to do that. Fight to the end.

Everton will absolutely arsehole us at Goodison.

I've watched them v Liverpool, Arsenal and Utd now and they really are a very very good and determined side.

If we had 3/4 of their determination and steel we'd have pissed this league by March.

Was that the game in January against Liverpool because it was over after about 10 minutes as their steely determination saw them grind out a 0-4 defeat? They showed similar grit last wednesday against Palace. Why can't posters have a bit more confidence in our team? A couple of unfavourable results and they (the posters on this site that is) go to pieces. It's no wonder that Liverpool are top of the league. You might hate them but their supporters have carried them there while our look like a sad reflection of them.

Fuck me; I knew we were a bit below par, but I didn't realise we'd become that bad. Fulham and Sunderland have done better than that!
