Yes we will win the prem. But the time has come for us supporters to stand up and be counted. Too many wash their hands of their responsibility as supporters and fail to get behind the team on forums like this. Too many think that if they blame the manager and players then that is all that's needed and they can go into work the next day with a "told you so" attitude and feel better about themselves. Much of the last week on the pre match thread has been spent knocking Liverpool fans for believing they will win the league yet this forum is 50/50 split between those who believe we will win and those who feel that saying we won't and knocking everything about the management and players is enough. It's time for City supporters to support City, stand up and be counted and believe.
Say again?

Will the season be classed as a failure by the hierarchy if we don't win the league?

Re: Will we win the Prem (continued)?

Yes I still think we can...never felt like we could last season at any point after the first 3 games but in 2012 before we played WBA I texted everyone I knew to say if we win tonight and the red shite lose at Wigan its game on....I have the same feeling this year...Stevie Me doing the crying lark...they think they have won it...big mistake.

Any season for us now is a failure if we don't win the premier league (unless we won Champs League - which we are still years off winning).

And no we won't win the premier league. Scousers won't drop any points and I think we will drop another 2-3.

Re: Will we win the Prem (continued)?

we haven't won a big match in 2014, I don't count rags as big match this season..

Add to that that we won 1 point away to three teams that are going down imo - Cardiff, Norwich and Sunderland, and it's really hard to do it.

Today was probably the last chance to come close. Win would almost seal it, draw would give us a chance to lose 2 more points and still win the league, but with this bottle job I think it's out of our way. I don't think we'll win all our remaining games and the games where Liverpool can bottle it are running out.

I should think so, yes. Only winning a cup that no other top side takes seriously is a serious under achievement with this squad.

-- Sun Apr 13, 2014 5:02 pm --

I'm getting concerned that we will be labelled one season wonder's. If we don't win it back this or next season the squad may have to "evolve" again
meaning more years of wait.

Re: Will we win the Prem (continued)?

Who knows? If Liverpool get stage fright, maybe.

The reality for me though is that in the big games Pellegrini gets his line ups wrong again and again.

Today it took him until 60 minutes to get Milner on the pitch. Playing with so many lightweight midfielders and Yaya was asking for trouble.

Now his tactical mistakes were understandable early in the season but he should have learnt by now.

Although today was a gallant recovery almost, we should never have been two down in the first place.

Defence is a major part of the game and he seems not to have realised that.
