Winning silverware: Does it matter?

I would take 17 boring 1-0s in the league as opposed to scoring dozens playing well, and coming second.

I assume the other 21 games would be exciting 7-0 wins. :)
Some of them have been that :) but now it's time to just grind it out if that's what it takes to win the league

Perhaps I didn't phrase the question properly. What I meant was, does it matter to YOU.

I can see it matters to the club. We need a strong and growing worldwide (plastic) fan base, to whom supporting a winning team is doubtless very important. And there's a bunch of other reasons too. I am sure. But what about you?

And of course I'd *like* us to win trophies. But I just don't seem to be so hung up on it like I used to be. Maybe it's because after waiting for so many years and now we have had success, I dont yearn for it so much. I get as much enjoyment from seeing us batter the rags as I would from say winning the FA Cup again. Probably more, actually.

Winning nothing is not winning, the end product is a must, its great to see us play such good stuff these days but we have to win trophies doing it or it counts for nothing. Top players want to play for clubs that win trophies, they wont come to City to play beautiful football. I think we can do both..!

No trophies would be a disaster from where we are now but I wouldn't want any changes. Football is quality.

I would be happy with one trophy though whichever that may be.

It matters and I want the Premier Championship back like no other, and maybe a league-FA cup double.... but I don't like all this 'quadruple' talk going on at the moment. In reality, with football you are only one defeat away from misery and doom and our 'friends' in the press and elsewhere will love the defeat as much as we will hate it. I would rather the focus was on winning the league again and as for the rest, well lets try for sure but lets not have hang up's about them either, as that route can lead to the sort of management chopping and changing we have seen at Chelski over the past few years in their desperation to win the Champions League.

silverware does matter to me,want to see city lift the league cup, premier league, anything else a bonus.i think if we can open up a gap at the top of prem,we will win it at a canter.last away game at everton, how good would it be to win league at everton,as they have a chip on their shoulder with us

The ride has to have a climax, otherwise it's all gong and no dinner.

Watching City these days is a pleasure, no doubt. But some of that pleasure is the anticipation of winning things. In the very unlikely event that come May we are out of the title race, you can bet that attendances will be well down.

Premier league title for me. Would love anything else, but that's the main one for me. As much as I love the CL, and understand how that competition is so important financially and globally, I would rather win the PL and miss out on the CL, than the other way round.
