Wolves (A) Post Match Thread

Not a great performance and the defence looked shaky especially Kompany and Mendy. Passing was sloppy and as Pep said we are definitely not playing to our maximum.

Laporte was excellent and MOTM imo.

Got what we deserved. Tempo was shite and worrying signs the KDB injury has left us half the team.

Gundogan is average and every game we have dropped points in, there is a recurring theme, he's in the midfield.

Nowhere near good enough today.

As for Mendy, horrible defender IMO. Stands square on and gets done every time.
Got what we deserved? Wtf
Gundog played last season when we were winning. .. recurring theme? Are you talking about it just recurring in this one game?
Nowhere near good enough but the woodwork x3, clear pen, handball goal given.
Agreed about mend but he doesn't get done every time.

Not actually sure if your post was a pisstake, in which case I totally fell for it

Pep handling it as well as Mancini with Nasri in 2012. Players need to feel loved by their club.

And what happened to Nasri? Oh yeah he ended up in the Turkish league and then got a doping ban. A bad attitude is a bad attitude and no amount of arm around the shoulder from the manager can change that. Only the player can.

Agree about the goal, but the ref never saw the handball and neither did any of the city players. At the time None of them complained and in walkers post match interview he said he didn’t know it was handball until told after. None of them saw it.

The linesman should have seen it, as it was directly in front of him - as revealed by the reverse camera angle that showed it clearly.

Anyone who thought we played "shite" needs to readjust their expectations and/or give themselves a good dose of realism.

City were easily the best team.

Wolves played out of their skins.

Luck went against us just as it will go for us in other games this is season.

For Christ sake, give Wolves some credit.

I am going for a lie down.

We were absolutely shite in and out of possession at the back & we won't win the league playing like that.

But it's unlikely we will be that bad in most games.

Wolves did play well & will take points off some others if they can repeat it.

The slight consolation is that we dominated possession, scored, hit the woodwork 3 times , unluckily hit the keeper with a quality header.

Add to that their goal being handball and we have been rather unlucky.

Presumably those saying Wolves deserved the draw will be saying the same if Spurs dominate the possession, hit the woodwork 3 times & the rags punch one in, on Monday.

And yet still half as many as we created against them.

Thanks only to the officials.

As could we, and in larger numbers.

Bollocks.

And yet still scored the only legitimate goal and hit the woodwork three times.

And a better set of officials would have seen us win comfortably.

I really don’t get the City fans that feel we only deserve to win by scoring five or six. Why should we HAVE to be at 100% to win a game if football when other teams can rely on luck and dodgy decisions?

Officials making mistakes are part of the game and always have been. None of the city players even appealed for the handball even though on the replay it was very clear.

Hitting the woodowork is missing the goal....it means we weren't good enough in that split moment.

Saying their game plan was only successful was only down to the officials is disrespectful and arrogant. Wolves played really well, defending well and attacking when they could well. We weren't anywhere near our best and sloppy at times giving the ball away in dangerous postions..some of this was down to our sloppiness but some was also down to the gam plan and when and where wolves pressed...they focussed on pressing Mendy knowing he wants to use his left foot all the time even for simple passes and cut off his passing channels for his left foot, forcing him into making passes he didn't want to. they pressed Kompany and walker but not Laporte as much.

Ferna wasn't allowed to get on the hat turn anywhere near as much and David silva had his space restricted (though being the player he is he managed to still play well)...they pressed Ilky as he struggles under pressure and did

Wolves were deserving of a draw (but maybe not how they got it with a goal that should have been disallowed)

I am worried about Liverpool tbh. Think they would have won this game if Wolves pressed them. We were really bad today. Everton went there and got a point with 10 men.
