Wolves (A) Post Match Thread

Viewers are restricted to one camera view from the media provider, VAR reviewers are not, they have multiple cameras to clarify key decisions and get the obvious ones right. To suggest VAR would be "inept" and decisions would not be corrected is false IMO.
It isnt working in the bundesliga after not many games. It's shocking

No excuses today. The team played well, but should know the fine margins that can come into play when you're anything short of your best. Ref cost us a goal, but if we were at our best we'd have been at least 2 up and it wouldn't have mattered.

It's our own fault for letting the referee have the opportunity to make an impact.

But I can't be too upset today. There's nothing systematic about our failings today, it was more down to concentration and focus. I'm not happy of course, but it's more of a crease in the shirt than a tear.

no idea why it ain't working in germany but the world cup version worked perfectly well, when it failed it was the official making the wrong call not the tech

it would of got today's handball no doubt about it

Well played Wolves

Any other day and we would have got the decisions our way and the post/crossbar shots would have gone in

But take nothing away from Wolves they battled hard for that point

I don't know about that, don't watch the Bundesliga. It worked well at the world cup. Fans mostly had confidence they would not be robbed by "hands of god" etc.

There will always be some debate about marginal decisions, but many fans feel cheated when decisions which should be spotted, are missed by officials, like today.

Really? (RE Sane) I havent heard anything from Pep about him, only Pep being pissed off with Mendy mobile usage.

He has mentioned about not being ready pre season and he didn't publicly offer Sane support for not being part of the WC squad for Germany. Last season he didn't start many games at the start of the season and Pep said he needed to do more in training. You won't here Pep outright slag players off (ala PEG) but he does drop the occasional hint.

Sanes "perf
I don't understand why a team who is largely outplayed & scores with a handball, deserves a draw.

It's patronising to them imo.

We would not be saying Utd deserved a draw in the same game.

to me whoever the team is is irrelevant...its the performance. It depends on how you see how a team played I suppose.

Did city play the better football (but what is better football? - this is a different question but for me its the same philosophy as Pep - attractive football is better football...others would argue football that wins is better whatever the style) - but for me yes we played the better "style" of football, more possession, more intent to attack.

On the flip side, I thought Wolves played better against us than the majority of the teams we play against. Although they defended in numbers they didn't sit back completely. They chose good times to attack as well as defending very well. When they did attack they caused us problems and got into some great positions where they should have possibly done better. They also pressed more than most (though still in a controlled fashion and at certain times) -again with this they caused us problems and although we were sloppy some of this was caused by their pressing/defending. They weren't just knocking long balls into the spaces behind us they were trying at times to retain possession. They worked extremely hard to limit us where they could and their players put a real shift in while we didn't look completely at it either. As individuals they were tenacious and as a team very well organised. Yes we created chances but not like for instance against huddersfield where we could have had 10 from very clear cut chances. They shut down Mendy in parts (no-one is every going to completely do it and made life for David Silva very difficult and Ferna had a very difficult game as well Therefore this is why I thought they deserved the draw.

Without a doubt it would. As for giving pens there was some shockers given at the world cup aswell as some rightely given ones.

Dave got booked for dissent for complaining to the ref about the challenge on him,we get carded for that when most teams don't,as it happened vinny put his hand up for their goal

I think Vinny was appealing for offside though he might now say he was appealing for the handball. If he had seen the handball at the time I think his appeal and priests would have been a lot more aggressive.

You are right about the Silva incident however -other teams/players do get away with that. For me his was a penalty (Sergios wasn't)
