I'm not suggesting they would if you read my post properly. I'm asking what the lefties on here would suggest as a solution to the people who have no respect for anything or anyone such as my dear neighbour.

The authorities should do their jobs and arrest the man.

If they arrested him and banged him up for a good length of time, there'd be outrage by some who'd complain about his human rights.

Not from this old leftie there wouldnt.

If they are being bad bastards arrest them and convict them and send them to prison please. Its the only way that the decent people who want to work and have some dignity can be spared beng accused of beng like them

There is a major difference between being poor and being a criminal. It helps no one though when the whole of the poor are criminalised by the actions of the few. Dont buy the rhetoric, the vast majority of our people want to work and make their lives better f they get the chance. They are not scroungng fuckwits

care to explain why you think that?

i cannot understand what people thinks wrong with it? if you're completely fit, able and sane to work and you haven't done so in 2 years then a bit of community service will do you some good.

if i was in a situation where i couldn't work i'd like to do that, at least i'd feel like i'm contributing and it would get me out of the house.

it obviously needs to be looked at properly and peoples circumstances reviewed.... i said it's a great idea, i didn't say whether the tories will do it right or not.

I'll give you an example of a lad I knew at college. He ended up going to Uni and studying Graphic Design and then achieved his goal as becoming a Graphic designer. He worked there for a year but then the company was declared bankrupt and he was made redundant. He immediately went in search of a new job in that field. 3 months later no luck so he signed on because he had no money. Another month later he started applying for retail and office jobs 6 months later no luck. He ended up at an unregulated call centre where his job description was pretty much to scam people, he developed acute anxiety and left and signed back on the dole. He's now moved back in with his parents getting just job seekers, still suffering from acute anxiety and hardly ever goes out to socialise anymore but yeah I'm sure doing some litter picking for a slave wage will restore pride, I'm sure that's just what the doctor ordered. Has he failed the system or has the system failed him?

I was on the dole for a good 3 months at one point, I have a good education and experience in different types of jobs but struggled to get in the door anywhere apart from telesales. I was treated like scum and the job centre and made to do ridiculous degrading things at jobs interviews for poxy jobs like JJB Sports. Another person would of become depressed and given up all together and can you blame them?

The government are happy to enforce this but still won't discuss enforcing a living wage? Instead they force disabled people off their benefits and the working poor lap this up while the rich/elite get off scot free.

Perhaps you don't have the time to do the research but you will understand what this government is trying to do.

i would rather pick up dogshit for £3 an hour than not work at all.

here's an example for you, i got taxed £150 this month which is about 2 days work on my current pay. so I've worked 2 days this month for nothing essentially. i'm a team leader in a call centre, where i worked on the phone for 2 years before getting a promotion, yes it's shit and boring from time to time but i need to pay my bills and my rent. now why the fuck should i pay tax which ends up with someone else who doesn't want to work in JJB sports or another call centre?

there's a lot of people out there that would do anything to have a job at JJB sports, i worked on minimum wage at next for a year and a half before and that's shit, i also lifted bricks all day when i was in between work and i'm not a big guy so it was back breaking at times. i handed out leaflets for a curry house, i did my families gardens up for a bit of cash, i did all sorts so i didn't have to go on the dole or get money from my parents.

there's people that work full time at places like JJB who are paying into the system for these graduate student types who think they are above places like JJB so would rather do fuck all instead.

disabled people (and mentally disabled people) who are proven to be by a doctor, single parents and other people who cannot work are obviously exempt but if a fit and healthy 25 year old who is doing nothing and sitting on his couch all day, then a few hours a week in a local park helping out isn't going to do him any harm.

maybe it's just me, maybe i'm too proud to sit on my arse and take cash.

i'm not saying the tories will do it right, i'm saying i believe that it's a good idea in theory. oh and the rich who are evading taxes want to be held to accounts to, there's a lot wrong with this country at the moment.

Nobody can really argue with what you are saying BUT separating those unsuitable for this is always gonna be a problem. You have ATOS saying they are fit for work then spending 2 years not been able to find work because no one prepared to take them on because of there health conditions.

i like the idea of it but like i said i don't know if the tories will get it right.

Well fucking said.

No it's not. The whole point was avoided.

The lad tried getting work and the comment I made about JJB was justified.

I'm saying the scheme is ridiculous. The reply from Ban just says how proud he is to of worked all his life. My point was completely avoided.

Will there be enough litter on the ground for all these eager new 'dole workers' to pick up?

Or will the government be paying the Bulgarian and Hungarian immigrants £2 an hour to come over here and drop some ????

Maybe somebody could put an empty Doritos bag over George Osbornes head !

450,000 jobs on average advertised over the past year

2.4 million looking for work, 1.4 million in part time of which around 1 million looking for full time work.

The maths are not that hard.

The above is the figures we really should be focusing on not what someone scrounger who doesn't want to work is taking off the tax payer each week

Haven't we been listening to the same bullshit by all political parties over the past 40 years.

Yet again we are hearing how they have plans to solve unemployment, plans and schemes that cost the public purse billions each term in office. The same plans and schemes that fail after each term in office. Both parties point scoring about rising unemployment figures.

It is the same bullshit we listen to

The reality is over the past 40 years each government that has been in office as failed and failed miserably in dealing with unemployment.

Yet the blame lay with the near 4 million who are chasing the 450,000 jobs.

The most remarkable thing is we the public vote the fuckers back in again.

Well what do we do? I agree with all you say, but where do we go? We've had that sack of liars, we tried the old lying bastards again, but what now?
