Surely Costa Rica are worth a £1 e/w at 3000/1

You always get one random team that makes it to the semi finals

And their South American :)

Each way is 1st 2 tho, this would be a losing bet.

I'm on Argentina, been backing them for months.

Yeah, the's the potential for a "surprise" semi finalist, but the finalists tend to be pretty well established. In past World Cups we've had Uruguay in 2010 (should have been Ghana really), South Korea and Turkey in 2002, Croatia in 1998 and Sweden and Bulgaria in 1994.

But its worth a quid surely? I can see them making it difficult for us in our group especially with the weather it could be a leveller

And everyone knows the SA teams can all beat each other on their day

I'm gonna back Argentina as my serious bet, but surely Costa Rica are worth a quid just incase :)

Looking at Lukaku for top scorer at 33\1 on the exchange's with a view to trade it out after the group stages. . .

Not looked at who can face who in the quarters/semis but the outsider for me is colombia. Finishing 2nd behind Argentina in qualifying and will be used to the heat.

A Argentina-Brazil final with Argentina winning will be the ice on the cake
I agree but what cake though? I'm thinking a nice carrot cake perhaps.

Brazil, Argentina or Germany for me.

Don't rule out the Ivory Coast either.

And don't rule out Spain either. Won the last 3 major tournaments and nobody's talking about them.

Brazil have to win it the Country will collapse into near civil war if they don't - half the country are in uproar over the costs already the other half are supportive of the costs of staging the event but only because they think they will win it. Failure to win it will create huge turmoil in a country that has staked everything pretty much on another home victory. I'm sure FIFA are in on the gamble and will do all they can to help a la Argentina in 1978 - anyone remember the Peru game - what a farce.

Final

England 1 Brazil 0

In the 95th minute after the ref has added 5 minutes injury time England will have a free kick on the edge of the box the shot will be drilled with ferocious power but is flying wide of the post only for the ball to cannon into Phil Jones's face and into the net ...... England win the world cup and due to the impact Phil Jones ends up looking like Brad Pitt....... Good news is England win the cup....bad news we are no longer subjected to the face that always gives

Question ..... would you be OK with not being able to laugh at Phil Jones anymore if it meant winning the world cup ?
