World Cup VAR

But, another big issue is the time being added on for VAR decisions.
Stopped clock with the ball out of play. Should have been done years back. Fuck all to do with VAR as well. The time the ball is in play in a 90 minute game is between 53 and 66 minutes in the last season and it drops every season. That's 66 minutes max, as in the longest we've seen. A compulsory stopped clock eradicates time wasting.

No. Not all situations where the ball is off the field are equal.

The ball going out for a throw-in, corner or goal kick (within reason) are not stoppages in play per se. But injuries, substitutions, goals, or VAR decisions are actual stoppages, so should be treated as such IMO. If that means having an official time-keeper who stops the clock and playing 50+ mins per half then fine by me (I don't leave early), but they will never reduce the halves to 30 odd minutes or whatever and then insist on the clock stopping whenever the ball goes out. Never.

It's a mess isn't it?

Replacing the fallible decisions of refs with the fallible decisions of full kit wankers in booths. It's not an improvement and makes the game even more susceptible to corruption and bent decisions.

Not a fan

They're all stoppages. The Saints keeper wasted 19 minutes taking goal kicks at the Etihad last season.

Yep, its a mess.

It needs to be "clear and obvious" to the match going fan, and those watching on TV, so let us see what is being reviewed, and why, on all occasions. Simple really, or f**k it off completely.

It's not even VAR that's the problem. It's the standard of refereeing where every single one of them have probably never kicked a ball in their life and want to be the stars of the show and being the matchwinners by handing penalties out like confetti. The rules of the game need to be clarified simple as.

So, the defender deliberately zig zags to block Ronaldo from chasing the ball, he tries to get past him, actually just brushing against him. The actress rolls around on the floor crying, ref says play on.
Some knob in a room thinks this is a Red card? Effing laughable.
The defender should have got the yellow, not yer man.
Bollocks. Ronaldo knew exactly what he was doing and has previous for this kind of stuff, even earlier in the season against Girona.

Remember he used to kick out all the time (and get away with it playing for United)

He's a petulant twat

Still wasn't a red card though, despite Fake being a ****.

I'd have given the Iranian a yellow and Tranny a red. I'd have called the Iranian on deliberate obstruction and Tranny would have walked for violent conduct. Whether he connected fully or not isn't the issue, the intent to hit him in the face was there.
No mate, the intent was never there, he was trying to get past the lad. Hate leads to anger, anger leads to fear, fear leads to the dark side. Don't act like a rag. Fake was only trying to get to the ball.

I just see it different, the initial elbow in the back then when the Iranian player moves direction Ronaldo then goes again. Yep the Iranian made a meal of it but hey I saw Aguero red carded for less albeit after the match
