Worse return journey home from away game after watching City

Charlton away, it was around about Xmas time ( I am saying eighties, not exactly sure what year) on the coach, the driver went to the Valley, ......................but Charlton didn't play at the valley , they were using Selhurst Pk.
I cannot remember the year, but bloody Jim Melrose had just signed for them from us, and I am sure he scored at least a hatrick!, we got beat 5-0, we were stood on the open terrace and we had every kind of weather you could think of.
Then with it being so near Xmas the traffic back was horrendous.

Oxford away, when we were 2-0 down at 1/2 time, Paul Simpson scored for them and rubbed it in at our end, but we came out and beat em, 4-2 (I think).......................the game was great,........... but on our coach (knackered Stuarts of Oldham double decker), someone threw up just after he got on, so it was sloshing up and down the bus through those country lanes all the back to the motorway, but the driver went a different way back to Stratford and forgot it was a double decker, if it wasn't for us all screaming on the top deck to driver about the low bridge ahead, god knows what would have happened.
The driver then had to go all the way back, so more sick on mi brand new Sambas!

I was at that Charlton game mate. I was only young but it was about 1985/86. I remember it started snowing at one point and hundreds of City fans taking off there tops at the back of the terrace.

not a return journey but on the way to that ill fated fa cup tie at Shrewsbury my mates car skidded on ice, left the road, hit a lampost rolled down a hill and finished on its roof in a field, mate in passenger seat put his head through windscreen, needless to say car was a writeoff, mate had loads of stitches and we lost 2-0 !

Saturday April 30th 1977, Derby County 4 Manchester City 0. The Day we lost the Championship and the last time we had a serious chance of winning it.
Went with Ashton Blues Supporters Club in a minibus. Thousands of Blues packed into the Osmaston Stand along the Side and round the Corner, serious violence in there end before and during the match, i still think it was due to overcrowding. The Famous re-marking out of the penalty spot and the Sand pit of a pitch. Loads of blues including us, walked right across it at the end of the match.
i have honestly never got over this game.
The journey home has taken 32 and a half years, so far !!!!!
Regards etc etc
