Worst pain you've experienced

They also come in a dull green colour and it was one of those that tagged me. It was largely my own fault, they’re not generally considered to be life-threateningly venomous, but they are bad-tempered and I wasn’t being careful enough. The swelling went down on its own once I got to Nairobi but I’ve still got the scar on my knuckle where it nailed me, the dick.

They possess neurotoxic venom which will target your internal organs, but their bite hasn't, as of yet, killed many humans ...... the ones to avoid are the Saw scaled and Russels Vipers, highly aggressive Vipers when trodden on or cornered, and both of which cause huge human death rates.

Russels Vipers are only native to parts of Asia ...... but you'd find Saw Scaled Vipers in both Asia and Africa.

Been run over and broke my leg in two places. Cracked my ribs, twice. Been smashed full in the face with a baseball bat. Fell off a ladder and broke my arm. Had what they used to call a slipped disc and could barely move for over a week.

But all that was like a tickling party compared to this one time when I got earache. Was seriously contemplating which was the best way to kill myself to make it go away.

I was just about to say the same thing. Broken plenty of bones, appendicitis, hospitalised with jellyfish stings in Australia when I was a kid…none of them compared to an ear infection I got during Covid lockdown. Because it was lockdown and almost impossible to see a doctor I didn’t go get antibiotics straight away, thinking it would clear up on its own…it did not.

It felt like a skewer was being pushed through my ear into my brain. First couple of days the doctor on the phone just said keep taking the antibiotics a double or treble up on paracetamol or ibuprofen if I had to, which did absolutely nothing. After that got my hands on some tramadol my parents had from one of them having and operation and that did the job until the antibiotics cleared it up.

For the past 5 years any sign of an earache and I’ve got the GP on speed dial, I’m not going through that again.

Being the sensitive flower that I am I cannot get any cold wind in my ears, found that out at a young age biking around. To this day I’m fine with very cold temps as long as my ears are covered, it’s a crazy thing but completely debilitating

Had a lipoma on my back in my twenties which wasn't a problem. Benign and painless. Until it got infected then it was pretty inconvenient, painful even when rubbing against clothing. So I went to a doctor in a Dutch backwater where I was working who thought the best way to remove it was to use a cooling spray and then cut the top off and squeeze the infected fatty puss out. Fuck me, that was painful. The spray didn't work, of course, and it was like having a bullet removed without any anaesthetic (I imagine).

Still, the girls were impressed when I told them the resulting hole in my back was a bullet hole. "Dined out" on that for a good while.
