The Tiviot and the inappropriately-named Full Shilling in Stockport take some beating.
Two pubs that every psychopath and care in the community case in Stockport drink in when they have been barred from everywhere else.

I can safely say I have never been in either.

Although I did once go in The Chestergate Tavern near the bus station and that is probably just one of the roughest shit holes ever.

Did anyone ever go in The Ups And Downs on Wellington Bridge?

Hop Pole in Ashton, I'm not accustomed to being propositioned before noon
My mate lives virtually next door to the Hop Pole and in his 40 year drinking career hes never set foot in the place, truly awful looking pub looks like the Adams familys house
Never too early for a pint though?

Used to go in Ups 'n' Downs in the late 80's when I first started drinking regularly - never really had any problems in there. There was a tiny club below it called Glitz that was supposed to be a bit of an eye-opener. I never went in myself but a few mates did.

The Union in Leve in early 1997 was an interesting place - went in with the now ex-girlfriend one Saturday night and we were the only people in there. One look at the girl behind the bar and her boyfriend went some way to explaining why it was totally empty.

Had some mad nights in The Garibaldi in Abbey Hey some years back too.

Jesus Christ! "Glitz"!!! it was a metal/rock club wasn't it? Can remember my brother bowling in from there most Friday and Saturday nights, completely wrecked!

Haha!

I used to knock a bird off who lived in Blantyre, a run-down former mining village on the outskirts of Glasgow. Many of the pubs up there were basically windowless, prefab asbestos sheds. Rough as fuck, worse than anything I have ever encountered down here. A tough gig walking into one of them on your own on a Sunday afternoon, with an English accent, and asking if they are showing the City game

Trouble is they don't speak English up there, I'm not of a nervous disposition but there and drinking on scotty road are not my favourite places

Cant remember the name, but on Dalton Street in Collyhurst opposite the flats.
.
The Longsight? (Down the road from the Dogs on Kirky Lane).

Is the collyhurst one ' named Billy Greens' ?

No, other side of Rochdale road from Billy Greens, If you went from the Osbourne over Rochdale Road and Down Dalton Street it was opposite the 2 Tower blocks that are now called 'Sylvia' and 'Christabelle'.
