worst ref decision ever?

all good shouts but i remember richard edghill getting taken out when through on goal in the box for a stonewall penalty against west brom but the ref sent him off for diving.

in the 70's jeff blockley punched a goal bound shot from francis lee (i think) over the bar. everyone in the ground saw it except the ref who gave a corner.

the ref gave spurs a penalty against city at whl in the early 80's when ossie ardiles trod on the ball and fell over.

this season clattenburg's failure to spot Bolton's 3 goals being a) offside b) from a foul throw and c) from a throw that should have been city's then sending off bellamy for allowing robinson to foul him also takes a bit of beating for serial incompetence/bentness.

Probably that Spurs goal at Old Trafford that was clearly about two foot over the goaline ...... yet wasn't given.

yea it was alf grey he actually give the foul because kevin reeves left his trailing arm on the shoulder of thompson, but i have never seen anyone get leveridge by using the back of there wrist, it was his attitude after he had given the free kick, everyone including the players were celebrating whilst pool were running up the pitch towards goal with grey waving his arms forward like he was pushing them forward to score, it was without doubt one of the most strangest refereeing moments in football, the same guy give the arse a penalty in the l cup quarter 2 years earlier at highbury when malcolm mcdonald ran towards big dave watson and clearly dived and grey had his finger pointed to the spot before he reached him, very strange referee mr grey?

Alf Grey ( I think ) against Kevin Reeves in L C semi in 1981 for a foul on Ray Clemence , I ve only seen it that one time on the night and it still bugs me !!!

Chimbonda scoring for Tottenham against City last season when stood on the goaline think the ref was Mark Halsey and also Disallowed goal of Tiattio against Boro when he ran the length of the pitch and had it disallowed because another player was offside

Surely it's Schumacher not getting sent off for Germany against France in 84?

Schumacher became later the only coach ever to be sacked at half time of a match. A truly deserved late punishment for him

David Ellerey in the FA Cup semi final Boro v Chesterfield at Old Trafford.

Chesterfield score might have been young Kevin Davies and the ball bounces over the line, players appealed for a goal and the play was waved on and then a foul given for Boro`.

In an interview after the game the ref Ellerey (tosser) said he disallowed the goal because of a foul, this foul took place after the ball crossed the line so he was totally wrong. Never again did he speak about his decision and it cost little old Chesterfield an FA cup final place. Disgrace.

Ive always said this was the worst thing ive ever seen, and not much was made of it in the press... The foul Elleary gave, was after the ball had crossed the line, and anyway the attacker for chesterfield was waiting to head it in, when a defender jumped all over him... Decison from Elleray, foul to the boro... this would of put Chester field 2 goals up i think, and almost certainly into the final...?? A disgrace....
