The current investigation regarding Madrid could have telling financial implications, so I reckon it isn't done and dusted just yet.

I think you're missing the entire point of UEFA.

It exists to ensure that clubs like Real Madrid will have their snouts in the money trough for eternity, while coming down like a ton of bricks on some non-name club from Moldova which is in violation of their "Fair Play" regulations.

I think Bale would chose United over City. Bale's game is all about his pace, his power and his ability to run at the opposition, usually as part of a fast moving breakaway, turning defence into attack. City, certainly under Mancini, simply don't employ this tactic and, as good as Bale is, I can't see Mancini changing his tactical ethos to accomodate him. United, on the other hand, are tailor made to play to Bale's strengths. Bale would be the perfect replacement for either Nani or Valencia. The only stumbling block would be the fee, Spurs showed with Modric that they will play hardball, I can't see United splashing the kind of cash required to get Bale.

+1 - United tactics are ideal for Bale, we just don't play like that and why would he want to join a club who doesn't use wingers when he is one of the best wingers in Europe (on current form).

He would go to the highest bidder (wage wise). This is obvious.

He's clearly more effective through the middle though and potentially we could offer him a role behind the striker that Rooney currently fills at united.

I still think he'd pick United though.

Footballers sign for whoever is willing to pay them the most. There is virtually no exception to this rule. This cult of Rag is a figment of their arrogant, delusional imaginations.
